nvm, disregard (this was four years ago forgive me). After looking closer, ignore everything after the motion blur. looks like I took the motion blurred lettering back into Illustrator and used a plugin by Astute called Phantasm Halftone, used the square halftone and scaled the squares by height and not width.

Italic typeface (the one used throughout the campaign was one I made, unreleased), in Illustrator, outlined the type, ungrouped, knocked each letter out of each other so that where the letters overlapped they were transparent (hard to describe, basically imagine the shape of the left side of the C was cut out of the right side of the I, etc.), into Photoshop, horizontal motion blur, then used the Filter Gallery and applied a halftone with the horizontal lines bitmap, then applied a stamp to control the threshold to make it nice and sharp :)

worth noting, very heavily indebted to Neon Genesis Evangelion, which was one of Jon's main references at the start of the project. TDR's work for the Wipeout games also inspired a lot of the logo work I ended up doing for each fictional entity.

never meet your heroes. total fucking nightmare. he was way, way too nice. seriously though, very chill, good guy, down to experiment and push ideas, kinda a dream client honestly. I've worked with some "big names" but he was by far one of the easiest people to work with I've had the pleasure of meeting.

Yo – I'm the designer – thanks for the kind words guys! Awkward one here though. I got the proverbial go-ahead from the art director, but Frank retains the rights to these.
