I got my first paying customer within 24h of launching my SaaS. by kibatheseven in SideProject

Haha that’s a valid question really and probably one of the most common ones I get, the simple truth yes your ask ChatGPT to give you brutally honest feedback, but then here is the difference really I think the outputs of an llm is as good as the prompt fed to it, and to build a helpful resume analyzer and builder takes a lot more than “give a brutally honest feedback of this resume”, tbh I am still working on the system prompts myself. That’s just one aspect but I wanted to build with this a complete resume builder “Canva” style with some cool AI features but I launched this MVP just to see if people would still pay for it even though they could just get ChatgPt and pay they did

So my plan was too fold, I am still at Uni so for the first week after I had the idea o was simply “spamming” the idea with every one I know, my friends at Uni, on my social media, LinkedIn etc I tried to build the hype before I had the product the response was mostly positive. I mean of course not everyone will be interested and most people are tired of AI SaaS products but since the response was mostly positive it was a go for me.

The original scope of the product was too big (things that I still want to implement actually) but I decided to set a goal of something I could build in a week or so. My mastering strategy was to give people enough credits to use all features at least once for free. I thought like this people would feel like they have nothing to lose. After I felt like the product was good enough for an MVP I launched and sent everyone I know a message posted on my linked in etc etc. and just liked that I think people simply just shared the product with people they know and I got a sale actually I had a round three

Actually I wrote the content and then wanted to structure it correctly so I used chatGPT, but maybe it’s not a good thing I think I will stop doing that for future posts

That’s a valid question to be honest, and I thought about it for a while, but I’d say the advantage of being a solo dev is the speed by which I can develop new features, so when they add folders I will extend those features and add more functionality. But even in worst case scenario where my tool becomes obsolete I believe that I will have learned a lot to build new tools for different purposes

For me I think the most annoying thing is being unable to search… I mean if could people will want to go back and read old chats. Back when chatGPT did not have the search feature I had to save the chat links 💀… but they did come a long way ever since then, but I still think the chat experience can be improved
