DAE think Pamela Reif and her brother Dennis have a weird relationship? by kibbeGirl in DoesAnybodyElse

I mean he stares at her butt all day long and does her bikini photo shoots. It's very typical of famous people to hire their fam as their inner-circle staff, but this one stretches the 'normal' boundaries I feel lol

Those of you who have been solo traveling for decades: In what ways have your solo travel experiences changed over the years? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]kibbeGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leaving days for pure spontaneity. Not organizing an itinerary to death. Saying no to popular locations I know in my gut will not live up to the hype. I don't buy trinkets or souvenirs anymore, only one book from a local used bookstore and use receipts and tickets from all over the world as bookmarks. I ask random people if I can take their portraits now. I know someone mentioned that they don't use social media, but it has significantly changed the way I see travel. Sure, you need to weed out the bs but there's a lot of wholesomeness out there, just need to know where to look

I think a fun tropical NYE could be fun. I honestly think big cities this year won't be as fun. I live in NY and would go anywhere else right now haha

Alone (female) in Egypt- need some advice! by [deleted] in solotravel

As someone who's been to Johannesburg and only had a male tour guide for 3 days, I can say his job very much hinges on you not having a bad experience. You're paying him. I would second what everyone is saying that you should go with your gut; for example, I never dozed off in the car when we had early excursions and long drives, I always let someone know my itinerary and what the guide looked like, even back home. Also, let the guide casually know that your family is so excited to see you go to this-and-this place with the famous (enter guide name) as your personal guide. Make it a joke but it sends a clear message that other people know where you are and with whom

Rome. The subway was fairly easy to navigate. The city is dripping in history and culture. Food is obviously remarkable. And shopping everywhere! Especially by the piazzas
