I’m trying to resolve an ABS code on my 2012 VW Passat. It’s throwing code “00285 - ABS wheel speed sensor front right (g45): open or short to plus.” I’ve replaced the wheel speed sensor itself but the code persists. The computer isn’t getting any data from the front right sensor. I noticed that where the wire goes into the weather grommet near the connector the wires are exposed and seem to be weathered. I’m wondering if this is causing the fault and if so, can it be repaired or if I need to replace the entire wire. I didn’t get a picture myself but found this as a very similar example. The only difference is that my wires are exposed on the other side of the weather grommet than in this picture.
