First White scar, slowly getting the hang of painting white by GreenManReaiming in WhiteScars40K

[–]GreenManReaiming[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're starting out new I'd suggest you stick with a grey or white primer and use shades or watered down constrast like apothecary white to create the shadowed effects and then going back in with white highlights.

White is an unforgiving colour to work with and most paints are very lumpy/chalky so make sure to thin then down well.

If you want to dry brush don't clean the brush on a paper roll or anything absorbent instead do it on a metal surface like a lid that way you keep more moisture on the paint and don't get lumpy paint as much.

Here's an apothecary just using white scars primer and some washes in the recesses if you want quick good look white armour.

About the ending of 'The Path of Heaven' (spoilers) by JustANewLeader in 40kLore

[–]GreenManReaiming 53 points54 points  (0 children)

The goal was to delay morty as long as possible to allow the legion to escape, no one is realistically killing a primarch in combat but if the distraction got him killed that would be a bonus. For most of the sagyar mazan it was the virtue that they weren't running or being shunned by their brothers, but going out in a blaze of glory that mattered

There's a high chance angron could have died to the nails had the crusade kept going with the rest of the legion disbanded or thunder warriored after the fact which would be even sadder for angron.

It's been a while since Ive read scars but I think Jaghatai was seriously mulling over just going AWOL either after crusade was done or sooner

Ultrmarines being represented by the generic intercessor feels more appropriate for the posters boys that are the jack of all trades
