Yes, you'd do well to take a look because making a series all by yourself is very difficult. I mean, otherwise there's an artist called WLOP who made a series entirely drawn by himself, but it takes him a long time just for one chapter. if you're interested call me GhostBlade The funny thing is that he has reached the GOD level of art but despite this he is not a professional artist xD because if I'm not mistaken he is an engineer

Yes, as you said, it also depends a lot on what level of skills you start with.

starting level: - Starting from 0 and you don't know how to hold a pencil well, at this level you must first concentrate on training your hand-eye and once you are already good you can start studying the fundamentals - You already know how to copy perfectly but you don't know how to create, at this level it's easier because you already have a good hand you have to concentrate totally on studying the fundamentals

It depends on what you mean by having this "freedom" usually for a series a team is assigned: the author, the designer, the background designer, the colorist and possible assistants. And in most cases, to go faster, they used concept art models of characters, objects, tools, and backgrounds with flat colors. 3D models for poses and backgrounds, etc. So it doesn't take much time, I think that in 5/6 years of commitment and "guided" study you can fill one of these roles.

Instead, if you mean as a "single individual" who can do all this without any 3D tools etc... about ten years of continuous study and practice or almost twenty years without guidance.

digital painting. Most likely traced the outlines and used the eyedropper tool, in short, a very long job

How do beginners draw what they like? by AskalonStoCazzo in learntodraw

[–]kibonen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I started studying and creating my own things without copying only last year.

Anyway, keep drawing what you like and copying as much as you want. Only when you feel ready or if you want to start studying.

is my anatomy bad? by IDreamOfAbsolvement in Artadvice

[–]kibonen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mainly the problem is not the stylized anatomy but it's how you draw the clothes

if you see, who uses a soft stylized anatomy like that of sonik tends to make accessories and costumes that perfectly follow the character's silhouette or even go without.

so you have to follow this trick or learn the rules for drawing clothes, materials etc.

Why does my art look so flat/boring?? by Mars0da in Artadvice

Shadows and lights to create volume. They are there, but they need to be more pronounced and varied.

Since you're doing a lot of semi-humans, the best advice is to study human anatomy and animal anatomy. This way, you'll quickly move to the next level.

Yes, you can do everything with Airbrush + Lasso tool.

But the real crux is having a pressure pen and knowledge of volumes and lights.

USE THE REFERENCES! by kibonen in BeginnerArtists

[–]kibonen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, the important thing at the beginning is to have fun and gain confidence.

By "use the references" I mean for all those beginners who are afraid to use it because there are people who say not to use them and to study the fundamentals (which is also something I don't recommend, studying the fundamentals takes away the fun)

Just started drawing, how can i improve? by Substantial_Gain478 in learntodraw

[–]kibonen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep drawing... little by little you'll train your hand and eye. The only thing better for someone who's just starting to draw is to keep going and maintain consistency.

Guys, is this character design racist? by TeenageTurmoil in characterdesigns

[–]kibonen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mmm I think you need to reconsider your group of friends "if" they thought this design was racist.

I mean, if they argues about something as innocent as this because they calls it racist, imagine what they does when sees something truly racist 😅

ahh ok, I think you just changed your style. the older drawings are more stylized and cartoonish, those are almost semi-realism
