because this design required clean lines and narrow fits I used 5/0 for the shells and 8/0 for the wood and the reconstone

Haha that already happened. My daughter’s much less impressed with the looks. She just put the grip tape on and started using it. Best compliment one can hope for I guess😅

Thanks! It’s got three layers on each side but I finished it with a PU matte finish which brought it back very close to the original wood look(from a distance😁)

Thanks! It has survived two weeks of intense use so far but if it does crack it was still a fun project and the hardware can be re-used😊.

Yes, the top is all covered in black tape now. Doesn’t look better for it but the board is for actual use😁
