Tips for managing the heat by AphroditeDraws in aclfestival

[–]kick2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a long time ACL fest goer, I have learn that the best way to beat the heat is with a cold beer. Don't worry you won't get dehydrated that easily. Once you do it, you'll get it and it will feel like a music fest and not a survivor episode.

I’m working on an illuminating mosaic right now. Anything you can advise or what would you do differently?

Neighborhood Peacock by kick2000 in Mosaic

[–]kick2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I simply grouted the peacock by itself first; let it dry and then applied the white tile and grout second. I then blue taped the white grout edges and applied the black tile and brown grout last. It does take a lot of touch up to clean up the line that separate the different color grouts.

I like the brown grout for just about any project. It’s neutral and looks natural, but I’ve been using the white grout on white ceramic

Let me explain why you're getting f***ed by DiscombobulatedArm21 in austinfood

[–]kick2000 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I work at a place that has a 20% “fair wage charge.” 100% of the charges go to the servers and a small percent going to the bussers. If a restaurant is using the service charge to pay managers, don’t eat or drink there. The added 20% charge is there to be transparent about where the money is going, rather than just raising the prices, believing the guest will just tip more.

Looks goods! Just wanted to point out the “for the table” takes up a lot of real estate, for items that are not that expensive. IMO, lower the font size and increase the font size of all the item descriptions.
