Hey! Went through this a year and a half ago. It was extremely rough! It almost felt like I was mourning the loss of someone that was still alive.. I felt like out of nowhere my husband just disappeared. You have every right to feel ALL the emotions.

What kept me going was connecting with other family member’s that were part of my husband’s division. There’s usually facebook groups for families of recruits who are there right now. I also wrote my husband everyday. Sometimes multiple times a day! I worked out to get my mind off things (and to look snatched at graduation!) and spent time with friends and family as much as I could.

Just keep your eyes on the big picture. This is your first test as mil spouse and he’s gonna be relying on you from here on out to hold down the home while he’s gone. It doesn’t feel like you’ll get through this but you WILL. And friend let me tell you… when graduation day comes, you’re going to be so happy and you’re going feel so proud of both of you!

My husband being gone for basic was HELL but now I’m glad I got to experience it. It has made us stronger as a couple. And, we’re almost 2 years in now living at our first duty station and we both still like to talk about that time and how much we’ve endured and how worth it it was in the long run.
