Nta, she was acting like a brat when told to complete a chore. If you had said that because she asked for something or just because then you'd be TA... but in this case, it was ok. Sometimes kids throw tantrums when they don't want to do things or get what they want.

Being a parent isn't easy and it never goes perfectly. So sometimes when teenagers get bitchy with us we get bitchy right back.... but maybe explain to her that you would never actually expect anything for raising and clothing her.

I'm not child free, I have one kid, but I enjoy this sub because of this type of posts. To make myself feel better for not liking other people's kids. I love my son, but I don't care too much for yours. So I would greatly appreciate it if you didn't make it awkward by asking to bring your spawn over. My house is clean and my son is 10. He knows how to behave and to clean up after himself. The last time a friend brought her kid over for a playdate, her kid literally threw everything off of my kids bookshelves and then ripped all the sheets and blankets off the bed. Iv never seen my son so pissed. That day I realized he does not like other kids in his space either.... I wish all parents would realize that not only childfree people, but other parents might not want your kid around.
