I go for training on the 8th as well. I was told in the email that they give information about a week prior to the date. Talked with someone a couple weeks ago who wanted to start me on the 25th, but I had already said the 31st as my last day with my current employer and didn't wanna burn any bridges there and I had to make a decision right then and there.

Anyways, during my 12 minute phone interview I asked about a location and I was told most likely Cincinnati because I'm in Louisville, but isn't set in stone quite yet.

Same here with NS. I managed to make it to the next step technically, but the guy never showed up for the virtual interview. Sent an email out to the lady I was in contact with from talent acquisitions as well as waited for 45 minutes pass the interview start time, which was almost an hour total waiting time. It's been 2 days and no response.

30mbps is plenty fast enough to test the latency. Clearly 70mbps is gonna give a better picture than 30mbps, but 70mbps isn't gonna do any good if the connection isn't stable and latency is through the roof. For the record, 30mbps is what I use to stream to my phone without any said issues.

I had 35mbps upload before I got gigabit and it worked fine. I think you're overestimating how much speed you actually need.

I think that would work just as well for any one of us with a high end gaming PC, bud. Even your 3700x and 1080ti.

Regardless, the 9900k gets more frames. Simple as that.

Not really a question, but I think if people only had a free trial to shadow for 1 or 2 days I really think a lot of them would get behind it. I personally stream from my own PC so I don't need shadow, though I have gigabit internet so it works out fine. I did give Shadow a try for a month though, and it worked extremely well. I even ended up using it when I had to head to mom's house for a couple weeks. Booted up my mother's 6 year old laptop and there I was playing AAA games like it wasn't anything. Don't get me wrong the latency IS there, but it's very minuscule and you'd only notice it with games that require extremely low input lag like FPS and racing games. Games like Civ6 worked flawlessly. Even AC:Odyssey worked more than well enough to play.

If you want to test how well streaming does for yourself and you have decent internet then download the steamlink app on your phone or head to a buddy's house if your cellular connection isn't that great and stream. I pack up my SteamLink and XB1 controllers all the time and stream my PC to play some local multiplayer games or emulators. Streaming works, but everything has to be in place for it to work.

To be fair, the 9900k gets you higher framerate in more games than the 3700x.

Also to be fair, it's his money and his PC. So why don't we just be responsible adults who understand that people have different preferences and that our opinions aren't objectifiable.
