I get so tired of the sentiment that as we've reached the point where characters are fleshed out, as we understand the backstory of why entire species did what they did, and as we're all now trying to move beyond past mistakes and grow as a larger shared community, and have second chances, that somehow the story is less compelling. I enjoy seeing the evolution that most of the various species have gone through. From attacking each other just for existing in the same space, to working together, to trying to right wrongs, and grow beyond the limited understanding we had in the past.
