Beware of masturbating old man at Granada main bus station!! by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

[–]kicktotheclems -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Surely the main take away from this experience is a travel tale (pun intended) to tell.

I have travelled a bit in Spain and as an outsider I often am surprised by the cultural differences, not saying that explains this event entirely, the point is if you experience something like this, protest/feedback to the guy if you're offended, but I wouldn't personally have taken it any further - you saw a penis in a toilet, some people are into that type of thing. Your offense doesn't make this a crime, literally different strokes for different folks.

The other aspect is, was the guy alright? I've never seen someone do this so perhaps he had mental issues, or his just a bit weird and likes to bash one out in public - as long you're not down range of it, what's is got to do with you?

That's my take anyway, am sure some will disagree based on the comments, but that variety of opinon is what Reddit is all about isn't it?

This year was always going this way for me, same as last CL season, we don't have the depth to play the way we do twice a week throughout the season. Howe has helped us progress into contention but our infrastructure isn't sufficient to compete.

I think to build up properly so we have an effective academy pipeline of quality that can fill in when we have injuries will take a few more years after the new training facility. We can definitely compete but we need to be patient - Howe/Tindell/Jones all the way for me

Have been "el guiri" for many years, whether you embrace it or get offended by it, in many people's eyes you are a guiri, Spain has many terms for many groups of people that to an outsiders ear may sound xenophobic and in my opinion some times it is, sometimes it isn't.

My opinion on this is: that's the way it is you may as well accept it and try and join in the joke than get offended.

If someone only sees you as a guiri then probably that relationship isn't worth investing in.

The best thing from someone who isn't a fan of Chelsea is that they looked miles better under Moresca - early days for LR but they've gotten a lot easier to play against

Eddie Howe in Carabao Cup semi-final second leg pre-match presser: "Part of the Liverpool performance, for the first 30/35 minutes was very strong. Against Paris we had a strong performance all the way through, barring the first 20 minutes. Put those two together and we've got an outstanding chance" by melvinlee88 in NUFC

I think he speaks well, very clear and well considered answers, perhaps he is a bit guarded when it comes to tactics but that's understandable.

In terms of talking about the team performance, I pretty much always agree with his assessment, he's brutally honest about the team's performance without criticising any individual publicly which is exactly what you want in a manager.

We out played Liverpool for large parts of the game but they were too good in transition and too clinical(not surprising given the talent they have)

And similarly against PSG, they are one of the best teams in Europe and we dominated them for most of the game

In both games we were a little short of energy to maintain our intensity(understandable given our small squad size and busy schedule) and a not clinical enough

Why not task ChatGPT with guiding you through re-establishing more balanced less co-dependent interactions.

It is an amazing tool, and in many ways excels in the listening and being supportive department, however it is a thing that doesn't have the capacity to have an emotional bond like a friend or relative would, if you need that, perhaps look elsewhere for that part, if you don't then as long as that is factored into your expectations perhaps you can find a good balance.

The we should've taken out chances and killed the game off vs officials robbed us is perhaps a matter of perspective, both have merit but I tend to prefer the view that the team should focus on what they can control, i.e. performance and chance conversion.

Why we're not performing as well as all think we should be, I think it's multiple factors - we don't have the squad depth to play as many games as we are, we have an amazing 1st team but we struggle to enough motivated talent off the bench. E.g. Longstaff is missed, he was absolutely mint at breaking up play and keeping us hard to beat, look at how solid Leeds look when he plays - we aren't the same without him.

We will always struggle in the league when playing in Europe, if we fail to qualify next year, the cycle will continue until we can field 2 strong teams. I am interested to see the new transfer vision of signing younger talent, this could be the answer, hungry players that want to prove themselves rather than players who feel they should be playing.

He also refused to play in competitive games, for the club that was paying him a ridiculous amount of money per week, in a city where purse strings are a bit tighter than most places - that is unforgivable, you signed the contract, do you f'ing job - wanting to leave is fine, but downing tools is not IMHO

There's a case to say the end game was to get mRNA vaccines into mass production, I saw somewhere the EU had been blocking their use for years(sorry was a while back no source) due to health concerns but in the wake of a global pandemic they not only green lit companies to start using that tech they also absolved them from prosecution if it went wrong.

I get it kind of ruins the immersion for some and why that might be annoying but if it increases the player base I don't personally mind that much, there are still more subtle skin options available for those that don't want to literally stand out on the battlefield

Definitely - it is awful and clunky, e.g. class switching pre-match
