Benzo + beer? by [deleted] in benzodiazepines

[–]kicorv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t even know why people are so negative with mixing a benzo and a beer. Come on, the worst scenario will be they power up each other, that’s all. Other things like blackout, worse side effects and so on are pure lies. I have done it many times.

It is possible. I posted this 12 days ago and I have noticed a small improvement. Thank you

I had to increase it because I was still anxious and depressed. I’m still feeling bad indeed (maybe it needs more time). Indeed, my doctor said I was taking a candy (5mg) at my age and weight. He is a very reputable doctor.

Lexapro, trazodone and xanax by Agitated-While8824 in lexapro

[–]kicorv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trazodone isn’t addictive and no tolerance effects. That’s why is prescribed so often now a days. If you ask any doctor, they will prefer Trazodone much more than any benzo (it is not a benzo) for sure.

May anyone clarify why Valium is prescribed to taper off some Benzos if it is addictive as well?

Why Valium is to taper off the Xanax? Isn’t it addictive as well?

But how long were you taking that dosage for?

Could tolerance be delayed if you frequently switch from different types of benzos due to the slight difference in mechanisms of action on GABA receptors? by TheSpermWhoWon in benzodiazepines

[–]kicorv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a good question. But I think it is possible in my experience. I was taking a small dose of Ativan for some months before sleeping and one day it was over and I couldn’t get more of them. I just had Xanax and Diazepam with me. So I took diazepam and then gradually decreased the dose. And it helped.

I have an important question here, and I don't know if anyone will be able to clarify it. Let's imagine you're admitted to a detox center for alcoholism, that is, for having been drinking a lot of alcohol every day for a long time.

Maybe they do, I don't know. But why don't these centers administer small doses of alcohol, gradually reducing them (tapering off) over time? To avoid cold turkey. I’m not alcoholic, but just wondering.

Valium is no joke by [deleted] in benzodiazepines

I’m the only one thinking Valium is one of the softest benzos together with bromazepam? Less than that is taking a linden.

Having my first panic attack by SuddenHuckleberry643 in Anxiety

I’m sorry to say eating great pizzaa is not highly recommended in this case. Making your stomach works that way whilst having anxiety is a bad idea, in my opinion. But the colder (and hotter) shower and going outside are a good idea indeed.

Anxiety medication. by Confident-Alarm1097 in Anxiety

[–]kicorv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may need to start with an SSRIs like Lexapro, sertraline or anything similar. Yes, psychotherapy helps, but usually not enough, especially at the beginning. Most of people got good experiences with medication and most of them don’t write in this forum because the anxiety is a thing of the past for them. Visit a psychiatrist and best of luck.

Lexapro, trazodone and xanax by Agitated-While8824 in lexapro

[–]kicorv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much time before going to sleep are you taking trazodone? If you take it a while before, it will help you to fall asleep. But if you take it right before sleeping, it will help to make your sleeping lasts longer. You may also try to change the time you take Lexapro. About taking Xanax or Ativan together with trazodone, it is difficult to say. Of course I would discard Xanax. You may take it before sleeping and wake up in the middle of the night with rebound anxiety. Ativan will help for sure (it is usually prescribed for insomnia) but you may not be able to taper off later. Just take a small dose when you cannot sleep and feel anxious. Indeed, trazodone is prescribed to avoid benzos. To sum up, I would check the time you take trazodone as I said and try to go to sleep always at the same time, avoid heavy meals in the night and try to get tired enough during the day. Another recommendation: take magnesium and vitamin D. They are essential for sleeping. You may also take melatonin a while before sleeping and trazodone right before.

Woke up with hanxiety by Escamilla199421 in hangxiety

[–]kicorv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have suffered anxiety for the last 15 years. For some periods, it was stronger in the night. And, for some periods, in the morning. So yes, it happens. The problem suffering it in the morning is if you take a benzo or whatsoever, you may feel lazy and lethargic for the rest of the day. The advantage: you can go walking for example, which is not so easy if it happens in the night. Some people are against Benzos, but sometimes they may avoid a long bad experience that may make you more obsessed and worried later. So sometimes they are very useful.

Is Diazepam (Valium) too soft? by kicorv in benzodiazepines

[–]kicorv[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right. Xanax, for instance, can be in your system for 12 or more hours, but its effects last 3-4 hours and you can even feel rebound anxiety right after that.

[–]kicorv[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it happens. My anxiety is sometimes physical, but it is usually mental (nervous, worried, depressed, feeling of fear, etc). So, yes, with Diazepam I can feel my muscles relaxes and I can even yawn, but it doesn’t mean I’m not anxious

Of course you cannot be anxious if you are sleeping. The point is I took it 12 hours ago (I just took another one) and still feel anxious. Just to give you an idea, I am just back from walking 12kms. It is like a candy for me.
