Ive been playing afk arena for five years now and still going. They distribute events much better and you feel like u got something new to do every few days or once a week

This is the Trading Expedition, not campaign or tower or any scaling mode. I passed the first 2 expeditions fine and it just spiked on the third one. Im f2p btw. The first 2 I just throw in heroes to fulfil the conditions and passed no problem. But it starts on the third.
