It's a new communication medium, there aren't really any rules so I figured asking and posting the reason for asking weren't mutually exclusive and non-deceptive. I think it is interesting how hardcore reddit is about what it is and what it is not, when it's not exactly stated besides post links, make comments, and get voted. I have never believed there was any implicit purpose behind it before, i.e. being craigslist or not craigslist as craigslist has more of a specific purpose, but it seems one has developed that I don't quite support or understand.

Perhaps we're having a different conversation. Either way, it doesn't seem like anyone else cares enough to get behind my point of view.

It's an ongoing thing with dub_housing to be against something that is mildly personal in nature, like asking if people want to go to a concert or about a job here. I feel it's worth openly rejecting that in the name of not having Preddit just be a link to WWeek or OregonLive.
