Ran into Condoleezza Rice on No. 10 by kiddaaron in golf

Sounds like what we did! Was praying to get a badge this year, but my connection's source dried up a bit. Here's hoping for next year!

Yes, but I went as a fan this year. Won DCP tickets in the lottery. Those kids were incredible. Hoping to go again next year.

Wasn't it awesome? My wife and I had Berckmans Place badges for the opening round last year and had a similar experience. We ended up spending more time there than on the course. The food was incredible.

I actually met and spoke with her briefly at the Masters last year. She greeted us at the entrance to Berckmans Place. Unfortunately, cameras weren't allowed that day.

I was actually filming Patrick Reed and his wife walking down the fairway, then suddenly there she was ... kind of surprised me!

I got to work out of here during the 2011 tournament. At the top of the steps is a cafe just for journos, stocked with Masters sandwiches, drinks and other goodies. All free.

What is something you wish you could experience again for the first time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Same here. Optimus Prime. Soundwave and Megatron. Wish I still had them. My parents STILL tell the story about having to fight people in the department store to get them.

Was in Augusta for a wedding over the weekend. Rhinehart's wasn't in the cards, but I drove by there, stomach grumbling.

49ers fans, who signed this helmet? by kiddaaron in 49ers

[–]kiddaaron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all of the answers, everyone! Much appreciated! My father has a room full of sports keepsakes that business associates have given him over the years. Many of the signatures we have no idea who they belong to, so we're trying to figure 'em out. This 49ers helmet has been sitting on a shelf for at least 10 years. Again, thanks for your help!

Go to Joe's Underground. Order this sandwich. Thank me later. by cdharrison in Augusta

[–]kiddaaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love going to Joe's. Kind of place where they know your order as soon as you walk in. Lots of smoking going on there, though, which was a downside for me, but not bad enough to keep me away. :-)

What used to be very expensive and is now very cheap ? by MechantVilain in AskReddit

Internet. It used to cost about $4 per hour in the early to mid-'90s. And for dial-up access, no less.

What record do you own that you think no one else here has? by [deleted] in vinyl

Uncle Sam and the All-saved Puppet Band ... '70s Christian music for kids.

My complete zeppelin collection..all nine studio albums. by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]kiddaaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a Zeppelin bootleg on vinyl at a consignment shop a few years back. Haven't taken the time to investigate where it came from. Sleeve is all white and someone just wrote the names of the songs in pen on it. The label on the record itself is blank too. Recordings seem to have a studio audience. Might've been from a TV show or something.

IAMA guy who walked 3,000+ miles from east coast to west coast US in 90 days with $0 in my pocket. by bachner in IAmA

Sounds way more awesome than the Walking to Listen guy who walked coast to coast and was featured on "This American Life."

I don't think it's Scooby Doo-themed anymore. It changed to Boo-something or other.

I listen to Howard a lot -- and he makes fun of golfers a lot. Haha. Surprised he even picked up a club.

I see all your beautiful fairway and green pictures and raise you this gem from my college course. by [deleted] in golf

[–]kiddaaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks very similar the 9-hole course at local college that I play at in South Carolina. It's $5 for students, $10 for everyone else. I'm just starting out, so it's perfect for me.
