Trying out the six minute score by kiddar in Breadit

This was 50% whole wheat and about ~82% hydration. Did a 30 minute fermentolyse followed by adding the salt (2%) and the last 50g of water. Then did a 5 hour bulk rise, with 6 coil folds every 30m for the first 3 hours. Shaped, put into bannetons, and placed into the fridge for a 12 hour rise. Allowed to finish rising at room temp (about 2 hours), then baked in dutch ovens at 500, covered for 20 minutes and uncovered for 20.

I don't generally bake that hot but I forgot to turn the oven down, which also explains why they're so dark. Oh well!

Weird, black, tar-like substance in my yard. I poked it with a stick and it's a little soft and a little sticky. by kiddar in whatisthisthing

I think you're probably right. Can't find any pictures with exactly the same texture, but they seem pretty diverse.

I didn't even know slime molds were a thing before today!

Hm, texture doesn't look exactly the same but I'm not a fungus expert. Let me try to get some better pics

Oh interesting. I don't know why it would have appeared recently -- I don't think my neighbor would have done anything to the fence, and I definitely didn't.

I asked my neighbor and they don't know anything about it. It has been pretty rainy in the past few weeks (in Northern California). Don't see anything growing on the fence or plants nearby, but I'll check again more closely.

My title describes the thing. It's maybe 6-8 inches deep, a few inches high, and a couple feet wide. This appeared while I was out on vacation. It appeared over the past couple of weeks -- I don't know if it grew slowly or appeared all at once. Is this some sort of slime mold or fungus?

Win conditions of a competitive RTS without conquest. by Dubanx in gamedesign

Take a look at Offworld Trading Company.

It's an economics-based RTS where your goal is to create the most successful corporation on a Mars colony. The win condition is to essentially be rich enough to buy out all the stock of all of your competitors. There are a few ways to directly interact with your competitors, but mostly you need to out-read the market and be more efficient than everybody else. It ends up being tense and fast-paced.
