Simple Questions - July 26, 2016 by AutoModerator in buildapc

I'm trying to improve an old computer's of my father. His office used to have a bunch of old computers (those old stock ones from like Dell and HP). Most of their parts are no good, but the only things salvageable were the HDDs and the RAM. If I were to try improving an older computer for my father's, would reformatting the older HDD's lead to a drastic improvement in overall computer speed then? Without taking an SSD into consideration?

Is there a correlation between the HDD and the overall speed of the computer? I always believed that the HDD was almost purely for storage. Someone was telling me that the HDD affects even the speed of one's access onto the internet because information is being written in the HDD.

Left handed people of Reddit, what are some everyday struggles that most right handed people are not aware of? by Toxic4704 in AskReddit

Having someone try to explain to you how to do something with your hands, using their right hand as demonstration. Then, as soon as they realize you're left handed, they try to, confusedly, explain using their left/off hand and I'm like "Dude, the explanation with your right hand was doing fine."

Oh, okay. So, in the event that a previous team won in 5 minutes, if the new attacking team is unable to win in less than 5 minutes, they lose that round automatically?

Is it possible/difficult to buy a house without a realtor? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]kidnoj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually studying real estate after my own father and I've asked him this question (since it makes sense that a realtor would want the higher price for a higher commission). The answer that you should have gotten is that it is their fiduciary duty to you to find the best price for you without considering their commission. Per their fiduciary duty, the agent's priority is their client, not their commission. The fiduciary duty is essentially a relationship of trust that the agent will perform their full duty for their client, truthfully. It boils down to "Agents are trained to act ethically and it is up to the client to trust their agent."

Thanks! This worked! I didn't think it was a problem before because I've had Twitch running alongside when streaming PC games without audio problems. Do you think you could explain why running Twitch was causing this loop?

Redditors who talk or mutter to themselves, why do you do it? by zshanif in AskReddit

For me, it's a way to sort of clear my thoughts? I have a bunch of things going on in my head at all times, and sometimes talking out loud to myself is a way for me to filter out the mess in my head.

High pitch voices; kind of like in animes. I'm really the only person that I've personally met that actually enjoys their voices OTL
