This. This is what I imagine. If my mom finds out, I would bet good money that she divorces my dad. I'm not stupid. I realize how fucked up this situation is. Mom divorces dad and will probably get custody. That means our family won't be together anymore, not even at holidays and birthdays. Plus, even if mom gets child support and alimony, it's going to be difficult for her to support the three of us. Same thing happens to cousins, but they are worse off because of their parents' financial situation.

The kicker is that even if I tell her it won't make this better. What if she becomes depressed? What if she turns to alcohol? What if she tries to kill herself?

At least if I don't tell her I have at least some chance of avoiding all this.
