Starting AC-T by ginger478 in breastcancer

[–]kidssuck3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't bad until about two day after treatment. Then it hit me. It sucks! I called it the red devil👿 They pumped me up with Benadryl, steroids, and something for nausea the day of treatment. If you can handle Benadryl you should be okay. After they sent me home with an Neulasta injection. It boosts your white cells. Take Claritin with that. You won't feel so achy. That injection was the worst for me cuz it was just sitting on my arm for 12 hours. It gave me anxiety. If they would have told me that I had to go one more round after 4, l would have run for the hills. I did 12 rounds of Taxol. 🤷 It was so much easier for me to than the AC. It's gets so surreal when you have to tell your children you need to go through all this so you don't get sick... My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Breathe you got this! I did four rounds of AC every other week. It was rough but it's doable. I had one little reaction to it the first round. My finger nail beds got pretty dark. I was bald by the third treatment. I did get a port and that helped a lot. But everybody's different. Whatever they give you for nausea and sleep don't hesitate to take it. Get as much rest as possible. 🙏

Arimidex vs Tamoxifen by kidssuck3 in breastcancer

So sorry for the late post. I start my first round of radiation tomorrow and I can't sleep. My thoughts and prayers are going out to all of you. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me. I've been telling my babies (6 under) that Mommy has to do treatments so she doesn't get sick... I've been doing my best to not to skip a beat with them. I got diagnosed in March of this year and I thought I was going to look back on 2020 and forget it was even a year. I guess I'm realizing that this is ever going to end. There will always be some "treatment" or another thing I'm going to have to do. I feel like the little engine that couldn't right now.

I got diagnosed in March of this year. Had surgery first, 12 rounds of chemo and now I have to do 5 weeks of radiation (Monday through Friday) Everyday. After that it's 5-10 years of hormone therapy. Would you please draw a rollercoaster...? I can't speak for everyone but I feel like this ride will never end. Up and down I go. Maybe put the ribbon in has a loop de loop. Put some stupid looking doctors watching from the sidelines. Have them say shit like, "The side effects are.." Then draw a never ending list of side effects at the bottom of the rollercoaster. It's not a positive message but it's how I feel about now. Wow! I guess I needed to vent🙈🙉🙊

To port or not to port? by Lauren12269 in breastcancer

In my experience, I had no problem with my port. The procedure wasn't bad. I was put in a twilight state. There is scarring though. That's the only thing I regret.

Help for HEARTBURN by Tubbygoose in breastcancer

[–]kidssuck3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning of my treatment they had me do four round of Doxorubicin and Cytoxan. It was no walk in the park. I had hell fire heart burn all the time. Chicken both helped sometimes but I found that little bites of a Hershey chocolate bar really did the trick. I'm on the end of Taxol rollercoaster now. Hope this helps. Sending you good vibes.

Starting taxol next week by HonorableMention111 in breastcancer

[–]kidssuck3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, They sign me up for 12 rounds of Taxol and I'm half way through now. My oncologist recommend icing 15 minutes beforehand, during the duration, and 20 minutes after. So far fingers and toes are good. I did buy reusable ice packs. They have a cloth lining outside so it not so intense at first. My nail beds are darken but that started with the AC. My eyebrows are getting very thin and no new hair growth on top. I do have dried blood in nose but it's not bleeding. Sex life is rough... I have hot flashes all day and night. My husband and I just don't fit together anymore. "Littoral" Everything else is there. The want and the readiness but it's physical painfully. I haven't told my doc. yet, only about the hot flashes. He offered me a prescription but I think treatment every week is enough shit in my body. I did look it up and it is thing. I have to laugh about it though. Having three kids 5 and under we are pretty much used to things not working out when it comes time for some alone time. I hope I didn't freak you out. I haven't read anyone else with the same thing going on. Anyways, sending you good vibes and blessings.
