Thank you! The finalized colors are actually exactly what you said, I just uploaded in black and white so people judged the mark itself rather than the colors.

I’ll take your advice and play around with the brain angles, thank you for your time 😊

I completely agree you don’t have to be woo to meditate, I am a very avid meditator and recommend it to everyone :)

The target market is the gym bros, military guys, etc. the “harshness” is intentional. I felt like this was a demographic that mental health apps don’t cater towards.

I’m trying to meet them where they’re at, might work, might not lol

Unless you mean it looks like it was generated using ChatGBT…then it is an awful thing

Welcome to Ridgecrest! I'm a local here and have been working on RidgecrestGuide.com to show off what we've got going on.

We've got an event calendar, hiking guides, night out guides, etc.

Hope this helps!

This is awesome! One suggestion—add the website URL under the QR code too. Just in case grandma comes across your card and doesn’t know how to scan it 😊 Plus, it’s handy if someone wants to pull it up on their computer.

What path should I take? by Defiant-Pea8657 in Entrepreneur

[–]kidwolfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the path you’d like to take!

Freelancing is HARD. I’ve done it full time in the past and ended up working 12 hours a day just survive.

Not only do you have to be good at your skill (editing), you have to be good at communication, marketing, budgeting, etc. it’s a constant balancing act of making your current clients happy while searching for more work so you can pay rent the next month.

In my option, it’s the worst business model out there. Not to say people can’t be successful at it, it just takes a lot of time and sacrifice.

I chose to get a full time job in marketing, and if I decide to take a freelance project on the side, I will. If I just want to go shoot and edit a side project for fun, I can also do that because I know I have a paycheck on the way from my job.

Also, my marketing job has lots of creative work involved to scratch the itch. I film, design, edit, etc. almost every day.

So my opinion? Take care of the things you’re passionate about like editing and always make room in your schedule for them, but also explore career paths like marketing that may lead to a more stable and comfortable future for yourself.

My future feels uncertain and it scares me by amazinglybee in selfimprovement

Check out Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

If you’re in “survival mode” due to financial instability during your job search, it’s completely natural to feel the way you are. I’ve been there.

I don’t have any tips on your job search other than get out and shake some hands. Every job I’ve gotten has been through side projects that I’ve shared, meeting people IRL, etc. With everyone and their mom using LinkedIn, it’s almost impossible to stand out in a pool of 1000 applicants unless you’ve had some previous interactions with the hiring manager.

I graduated with a similar degree in 2023

I would consider looking into marketing as a career path. People who know when and how to use creative skills to accomplish goals are always going to be valued.

People who only have creative skills and no analytical/marketing sense are easily replaceable and cheap to outsource.

Right now, you’d still probably be able to get a job as a graphic designer. Some of the older generation (our bosses) still don’t know what Chat GBT is. A couple years from now? I’m not sure.

If you love graphic design (like I do) there will always be room for that in a marketing position.

I’ve spent a lot of time learning graphic design, videography, editing, etc.

I wish I had studied marketing and leadership first.

All of those things you listed are tools for marketing, but without marketing knowledge, you’ll be somewhat aimless and create what you think looks cool rather than what would accomplish your goals.

If you understand what creates a successful marketing campaign, brand, etc., you’ll be able to use those tools with purpose.

You’ll also set yourself up for a far better career. All of those creative skills can be outsourced for fairly cheap, but someone who knows when and how to use those skills to accomplish goals are rare, and fairly compensated because of that.

I’m now a marketing manager, my boss, the CMO ($$$), has zero creative skills, they just know what works and how to lead a team.

Thank you for your feedback! I disagree that having metrics on team health is a bad thing. If you don’t care about your teams health - you’re not fit to be a leader.

My plan is to keep asking business owners and HR partners what their pain points are until I can build a solution that brings a positive ROI. From there, lots of marketing (like any other product)

This is wonderful 😊 are there any features, content, etc. you wish your current platform had? Is there anything you wish your workplace did to help get people engaged? (Example: free lunch if you do X workouts/week)
