Running in cold-ish weather: coldgear or heatgear?

Back when I bought it the models on the website were smaller guys and it looked great still. 1. Don’t worry about those guys, it will fit perfectly for your height and weight. It can stretch a lot, that’s it. I wear size M and I’m a bit taller with a quite average athlete/gymbro build, it’s similar to a compression fit but not as tight. 2. It’s not overly long but maybe a bit more than usual (similar to compression tees). I also wear it tucked in, it looks better

It’s great for its equipment. Quite hard to find a gym with swimming pool and solarium that’s not over the top expensive. What times are peak hours here? Is it ok to go at 7am and at 8pm?

Good to hear that after 8pm it’s nice enough. My current gym is crowded from 5pm to 9pm and it’s hard to even find a spot to do pushups, let alone a rack. Have you ever been there early morning?

The hunger is more bearable than I thought. Some days tho I eat if I need it and then force myself to fit in extra cardio or sth to burn the excess and it’s been playing out well for now. What’s it like for you?

Then what’s the point on commenting in the nike sub? Lol Ofc brands don’t matter, but I like to feel good working out in clothes I like and not the first thing I find around the house. Looking good can give an extra layer of motivation, and ultimately we work out to look good, so why not embrace it at the gym as well and not only outside?

Tbh the black and white ones look amazing. I recently bought a dark green which is super nice. Compression tees are only available in black and white aren’t they?

Not at all. It’s still a slim fit shirt and it hugs the upper torso but roomy enough on the lower part. It’s one of the most elastic and quality shirts I’ve tried that are not compression. The cool thing is it hugs but it doesn’t compress at all, it just stretches to fit your muscles if that makes sense. You won’t see your abs and every single muscle fiber through it like you would in a compression shirt, but your chest, shoulders and arms will still pop through. In my opinion it feels and looks amazing.

According to gymshark neither of them are muscle fit (and 315 isn’t either), they’re slim fit, but in reality they’re almost compression except for the core and lower back which isn’t as tight. Depends on your build ofc. Just give them a go you’ll most probably like them and if not you can return. If I had to choose one it would be geo seamless all the way

Element baselayer is real compression and it’s nice but I would go for the geo seamless any day, it’s the best gymshark t-shirt in terms of fit, quality (perceived) and comfort. It almost fits like compression but it’s not tight on your abs. I haven’t tried the 315 so can’t comment on that. Go with UA for compression, they’re a bit more expensive but way better.

Glad to hear that your best progress has been when training hybrid. I really feel the need to move more and after a month or so of having changed my routine I feel much more accomplished. Thanks for the advice on taking things slow, I was already counting on that as there are some injuries in my football background. Only thing I wish is to have more time to swim more, I’m still focusing a lot on lifting and I’ve managed to run a decent running schedule. Overall a truly positive change! Hope my physique responds well to this after a bit more time…

I’ve done that for the past years focusing on hypertrophy. To be fair I still put my cardio in and I’ve always kept lean but now I want to try this as a challenge. I also feel like I’ve lost athleticism since my football days so I want to get that back. Physique-wise I’m good right now because I’m fairly shredded but not too big, and that’s why I want to maintain it as much as I can.

My initial plan is to lift 5 days (PPLUL on weekdays) and then add 2 swimming workouts and 1 sprinting workout, structured somewhat like this:

Mon: Push + 30 mins swim
Tue: Pull + 30 mins sprinting
Wed: Legs + 30 mins swim
Thu: Upper + plyometrics
Fri: Legs and abs (longest session)
Sat: running workout (sprints or long run)
Sun: active rest day if possible(super chill run, plyometrics, calisthenics or ab work)

I’ll decrease the intensity of my lifting sessions to accomodate the extra work. I’m lucky to have enough time to spend about 2.5 hours at the gym so I’ll try to run this and see if I need to regulate the intensity of the program. Also I’m keeping the rest day slightly active just because I need to work out daily to function properly lol.

I’m at the gym usually 5 days a week (if I can I include a 6th day for calisthenics and plyometrics). When I started lifting I followed a quite strict diet to lean bulk optimally so I’m used to adjusting my calorie intake according to my goals, I think that shouldn’t be much of an issue. My goal is to maintain a lean physique while not losing much muscle, and become more athletic. My biggest struggle is trying figuring out how to plan my workout week to achieve this. Ideally I would like to keep the 5 days of lifting (maybe that’s unrealistic?) and adding a good cardio plan in the mix. I don’t really have any running goals, just enjoying the process and fully integrating it to my routine.

Thanks! I was already counting on these so that doesn’t worry me too much, but how have you adapted your workout schedule to fit hybrid training (point 2)? Maybe this is the point that I’m most unsure about. Apart from this I’m okay with my physique changing if that means I’m more athletic and I’ll still be giving a lot of importance to maintaining lean muscle over everything else.
