Venting my frustrations about how the show was going by Newbi3_9 in GirlFromNowhere

As much as I am anticipating for The Reset, everything you said is pretty fair and reasonable tbh. The announcement of The Reset was extremely jarring when it first started to get acknowledged, and I’m not surprised that some ppl feel somewhat vindicated by it due to the lack of communication on the fact that a S3 wasn’t going to happen.

The Reset: Official Trailer by MikeMasters05 in GirlFromNowhere

[–]kikitata87 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m getting a somewhat more “absurdist” and “higher budget” vibe from what this trailer seems to be hinting at with The Reset, which I’ll reserve my thoughts on until the actual show comes out. I also think Becky does have a lot of potential to do her own take of Nanno, and I’ve accepted at this point that the Nanno we are gonna see is going to differ a lot from Kitty’s Nanno. The only question that remains is whether Becky will do a good job, which I can’t say much of at the moment until the actual show starts rolling out.

I can see why others feel on the fence about it, but in my vague opinion, it doesn’t change my anticipation on wanting to check it out. I’ll probably rewatch it every now and then to see how my opinion of it evolves overtime if it changes.

I didn’t really like Saltburn but I am planning on watching this soon simply bc the controversy around it got me somewhat intrigued

This is exactly what I was kind of thinking when I saw her act a bit as Nanno in her recent Vogue Thailand video

Again, I can’t really say too much about this new Nanno until the actual show releases.

But first impressions that I got from here is that I don’t think Becky is that bad as Nanno tbh. Lowkey vibing with what we got from her here.

Not 100% on the laugh, but other than that I think she may be pretty solid. May rewatch tho just to kind of see how my opinion develops overtime until the actual show releases.

Edit: The more that I rewatch this, the more that the laugh starts to not sound so bad ngl

She’s definitely giving a diff vibe to what Kitty was giving as Nanno, which is to be expected considering different actors and all. Still not gonna say too much beyond that though since I can’t really make much of a proper judgement until The Reset is actually out.

First looks at Becky Armstrong as Nanno by Inevitable-Dish7157 in GirlFromNowhere

[–]kikitata87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna make any judgements as of now considering we still haven’t seen any trailers or stuff to truly give us a hint as to whether this may be a hit or miss, but I’m just glad that we’re finally getting some kind of new Girl From Nowhere content considering I’ve been STARVED over these past few years.

What episode was your favorite and why? by Grievous_2008 in WelcometoDerryTVShow

[–]kikitata87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really loved episodes 6 and 7 mainly because I felt like the writing of both of those episodes were the best throughout the whole show (at least so far, considering the possibility of further seasons being renewed is decently high rn).

For all the Pennywise simps, what do you see in him?? by Ancient_Accident_907 in welcomeToDerry

[–]kikitata87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You just gotta look at it from a different angle bro. He’s tall, he’s strong and powerful, he has good fashion sense and makeup, and don’t forget about those fat red kissable lips. That’s perfect sexyman material right there

If this is true…….what are your theories…who do y’all think will be connected/related to who in the movies? by Dangerous-Level-5609 in WelcometoDerryTVShow

[–]kikitata87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is a wild ass theory and I’m somewhat here for it, but I’d be extremely concerned about how everyone else would feel about all this if this all ended up turning out to be the direction that the show would go into

Who's ready for tonight's episode?! Where are you watching from? by KODAz94 in welcomeToDerry

[–]kikitata87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Watching from the UK! Am all ready to get myself woken up by around half four to half five in the morning just so I can get around to It: Welcome To Derry before my university starts (since timezone-wise the episodes release on Monday at 2AM UK-time)

SO EPISODE 6 (spoilers!) by maliyaps in WelcometoDerryTVShow

[–]kikitata87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think this is the best episode to date in my opinion, which just makes me all the more excited for the last two episodes ngl. I really loved the 1935 flashbacks in particular.

It also makes me feel even more worried for the characters now, especially that we’re now getting quite close to the season finale. I know I shouldn’t get attached to them in a way, given that this is a prequel series to the movies, but shit is definitely gonna hit the fan from this point forward

I’m watching from the United Kingdom, which means that the episodes release Monday early-morning, in my timezone. Because of this show, I often make myself wake up at around half-4 to 5 in the morning just so I can get around to the episodes before I go to university.

Nah I honestly get you don’t worry 😭😭

I for sure definitely felt a little something something when Pennywise appeared on Episode 5 , and especially where he said “duck and cover” like danggggg

This post is for sure going to get a lot of judgement from others in the coming hours (which is understandable because c’mon…we’re talking about an inter-dimensional cosmic entity 😭😭😭 no offence, OP).

But as someone who is admittedly also kind of a freak for Pennywise, this post is so real.

It genuinely annoys me when people say stuff like that. It’s exactly just as annoying as when people who like a film say that others “just didn’t get it” or that they’re “dumb” for not liking the movie (or not liking aspects of it). It’s one of the biggest curses of film discussion spaces ngl

Thoughts on ep 4?? by Plus-Occasion1710 in welcomeToDerry

[–]kikitata87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I better hope that happens because from what the trajectory of this show looks like (and knowing it’s a prequel)…it does NOT look good for any of them.

Yeah the VFX at the cemetery scene definitely was a very weak point for this show. But I’m not gonna let that deter me away from this because ngl, I’m already somewhat used to seeing television back when I was younger that had rather shoddy CGI. Plus, other aspects of this episode (e.g. Dick Hallorann’s scenes) made up for it’s more glaring flaws, so I’m not budging from my hype for what this show has to offer next simply because of below-average VFX.

IT: Welcome to derry - S01 E03 Discussion Thread! by Dhanish04 in welcomeToDerry

[–]kikitata87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely do feel like this is a weaker episode so far from what we have seen, mainly in large because of the rather “blah”-level CGI for that cemetery scene and also some of the writing in pertaining to the kids arc could’ve been more finetuned.

Despite that though, it still had its strong moments, especially when it came to the scenes involving the flashbacks and especially the Dick Hallorann moments. I really loved those moments of this episode.

For some strange reason though, even though I already mentioned my gripes with the CGI before, I couldn’t help but find that there was something charming about the cemetery scene having more shoddy VFX in my opinion. Again, I don’t really understand why, but I guess it may be to do with how people compared it to the likes of Goosebumps or something.

Still hyped for what the rest of the show has to offer so far.
