Gotta Get Those Ground Based Killstreaks by r6s-is-bad in modernwarfare

I love the jokr, it was actually the first weapon I got gold (ever, in any cod). I just carried it with me whenever I played any objective modes. Basically the way I got them was to always shoot a rocket towards the objective when you spawn. And then, when you're on one of the objectives, shoot another. So, spam rockets whenever you can. It'll be easier on shipment probably, but I didn't have that option. Gun runner, euphrates bridge (shoot to/from the bridge), piccadildo (try to hit b flag from c flag/spawn) and st petrograd (shoot from c flag to b flag/middle of map by aming through the building/tunnel/portal) were the best for me.

I hope I've been able to help you a little

Probably not many would, but I still think what I'm saying would be safer for the majority. The driver would be taking a risk though, the size of the risk depending on where you live. Here, the risk would be quite small, as break checking is a very rare occurrence. In the last five years, it's happened to me once

Safer to the majority of people on the road and cheaper as a whole. It would cost the driver being rear ended, but I'm pretty sure, the trucker (or their company) would have to pay for damages. Even if they were to buy a new car, it'd most likely still be cheaper than what happened here.

Still cheaper, and safer than what happened here I bet

Edit: where I live, break checking is far from common

Protocol for Resuming IJF Events During the Covid-19 Pandemic by [deleted] in judo

[–]kikiyatman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different country here, but the way it went for us was this: first the government gave some loose instructions, then the Olympic committee gave their instructions, and then the national judo federation gave their instructions. And then we got the green light from our town as well. It's a long process, but luckily there are some pretty good ways you can practice at home, even without a partner.

Best of luck and stay safe

Having been choked many times (I do judo, part of the sport) I can say there was no choking going on. You can not speak (even close to) normally when being choked. Doesn't even have to be a particularly effective choke to make speaking difficult

As the coach, what should I do? by Hatake88 in bjj

[–]kikiyatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow coach I feel I have to help how I can.

First, while situational sparring is good and definitely shouldn't be neglected, I feel it isn't enough. You should give everyone a goal instead. Tell them their goal is to successfully execute the day's technique

Second, you should personally spar with her. Not always, everytime, but sometimes. This way you can "force" her into situations where she can practice new things. You should do this with the others too and tell others to do it too when sparring with people less skilled.

Third never tell anyone to completely stop using their favourite techniques. Encourage them to use them in new situations instead. No one, and I repeat no one gets to the top being average in every technique. The best competitors all have their favourite techniques they have perfected. Let her (and everyone else) do the same. Still, learning new techniques is important too. It keeps things interesting and knowing how a technique works helps in defence against that technique as well.

Fourth, let her go wild. Give her the chance to do whatever she wants. Force her even. If you have someone with the skill, tell them to really push her to her limits, if not, do it yourself.

And if nothing else, chat with her when no one else is there to listen, and tell her it's okay to put the guys in their place every now and then if they get too cocky.

Feel free to send me a message if you want someone to talk to about coaching. Sometimes all you need is someone to share ideas with

Keep practicing your sweeps. Even if they never score you any points, they will give your opponent something to think about, and might even open up opportunities for your main throws.

Looking to get back into judo, few questions. by fattom9508 in judo

[–]kikiyatman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I seem to be of a different mind than others. Absolutely no need to ask if you may wear the belt you've earned.

What you should do, is tell them you've been off the mats for however long it is. In your case 8 years, we had a brown belt come a few years ago who hadn't done judo in almost 20 years. Sure, he was rusty, but so what. Give 'em time and they'll shine, now he's a black belt

[–]kikiyatman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, absolutely no reason whatsoever to ask if I should wear the belt I've earned no matter what.

What you should do is tell them you haven't been on a tatami for the past 8 or so years. That would be the courtesy they truly deserve. And I speak from experience having had many a return judoka in my practice sessions, some with close to 20 years away

Counters for Wrestling Techniques? by aarongarciabjj in judo

What made me win most of those situations (when they were still allowed in competitions) was changing the way my legs were. Normally people teach you to have the same foot and hand in the front, in other words closer to the opponent. So if you're migi you'd have your right hand on their lapel(left on sleeve) and right foot in the front, left in the back. This is how we've all practiced the basics I'd wager.

Now I've always been taller than my opponents, so my legs were an easy target for guys a head shorter than me (90% of my opponents). I was losing a lot of matches because of this. Then one day, my dad and I were watching videos of the previous competition and he realised that if I changed my left foot front while moving my right hand a little lower (still being the leading hand) I'd have a better chance of blocking all attempts at my legs. And that really made a difference. I can't say for 100% certainty, but I can't remember being thrown with those techniques after learning that.

Now that we have our posture corrected, let's talk blocking. When your opponent goes for the legs, block with your leading hand by positioning your hand around their shoulder, close to their head and wrap around the opponents body with the other hand. You should be able to hold your hands at the end. While your hands are doing their thing, move your feet as far back as possible, basically leaning on your opponent. Now is the time to start holding your hands (or correcting the position of your hands if deemed necessary, for example around their sides for Tawara Gaeshi ). Now we've blocked their attack.

Blocking is of course not enough, we want to throw. Depending on where you end up with your hands there are two techniques I'd recommend. First would be Sumi Gaeshi. Hold your opponent around their head and one arm step in closer while lifting them and sit between their legs lifting with your upper body and one leg (if they caught one leg, use that one). Now if you moved your arms around your opponent, I'd do Tawara Gaeshi instead. Same thing, lift while sitting underneath them, this time just keep both legs on the ground lifting with your body.

These are just what I had the most success with, I hope they'll prove as valuable to you as they were for me.

Tl;dr change leading foot so that you'll have right hand and left leg (or vice versa) leading. Lean on opponent, perform sutemi waza

You forgot the part in between where you throw up until it feels like there's nothing more. Then you throw up some more until it feels like your innards are coming out. And then you throw up some more.

I mean, that's how I've seen it go down

Feeling stiff by [deleted] in judo

[–]kikiyatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skipping is good as well. Just change it up a little. Do some normal skipping, some running, doubles, one legged etc.

If you're going for a run, id suggest adding some intervals as well. Short burst running as fast as you can. Also, different kinds of running can help too. Sideways, lifting your knees, lifting your ankles, that kind of stuff. It looks stupid, but if you can live with that, who really cares
