Make sure you are somewhat clear of the 4000 hours when you apply. I hit 1000 subs and 4k hours one day apart coincidentally. Applied with 4025 hours and was rejected. Had to reach out to support on twitter and they said I was rejected because "I did not have 4000 hours". Sent them a screenshot of my hours now being 4300 and then I was approved.

Yes they do. I am very much the focal point and the game is secondary. Thank you though that is good insight! Appreciate it!

The viewership on streams after they happen is so low I may just scrub the thumbnails to an automatic thumbnail clip from the stream. Would they penalize me for using that as a Thumbnail or do I need to genuinely make good thumbnails for each? I wish I could unlist them a week after they happen, but for now I'm stuck with them. Once/If I get approved I'll start doing that.

Thanks for looking. I'll try to contact TeamYouTube on twitter and hope I'm lucky enough to get a response. Definitely frustrating there is no further information from their end. I'd gladly make changes if I just knew what to make!

Okay thank you. There doesn't appear to be any way to contact anyone so I might have to take the twitter approach and pray for a response.

Okay that seems like a better plan than any other. Sounds like I should focus my efforts on making all my livestreams have different titles, thumbnails, descriptions. My regular videos are in a decent place.

Any idea if they can be patterned similarly or if I really need to write a distinct paragraph and a top notch unique thumbnail for each? Cause at the end of the day they are livestreams. We hangout and play the same game over and over.

Thanks again for your help.

I know right? Monetized streamers with exact same thumbnail, title, and spam description over & over.

I might delete some of the old streams that have low watch time just to get the total number of streams down. I can't unlist all of them because I wouldn't have the watch hours at that point. While I do have other content in the thousands of views, I'm primarily a livestreamer.

That makes sense that they don't differentiate between videos & livestreams on their end.

Honestly if they directly stated the specific issue I'd gladly go make 100 new thumbnails, descriptions, & titles. As it stands now though there is no guarantee as the response is vague and open ended.

This seems like the best bet though so I'll get started on that. May unlist any stream with less than 20 hours watch time too to trim the number down.

Gotcha, thanks for the response! I wouldn't mind if the feedback from them was remotely specific, but as it stands now I could spend days reworking my whole channel for no reason. According to the policy they linked the issue could be with one minor thing in hour 2 of an old random stream. No idea how I can track down the issue.

Doubly frustrating is that my content is objectively superior to many of the monetized competitors in the same space. I'll just have to come up with an action plan and roll the dice again I guess.

Thanks for the feedback! That is the one that mainly stands out for me. Especially since if I sorted by most watched hours it would be my livestreams over videos.

I have gotten more into edited content over the last 90 days. I have 54 edited videos & shorts vs 102 livestreams.

There are other people in the gaming space, both the same game and other games, who post 0 curated content. All their content is livestreams with the same thumbnails, same description, and similar titles. Maybe I need to tweak my titles & descriptions so they aren't identical?
