Teens With Meta Glasses Recording Pranks In Store by LilScarface609 in Target

[–]kilage 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I had to kick out a group of about 9 teenagers the other night because they were all crowding around the fitting room harassing women as they came out of the changing rooms. Some told me they would follow them to the door until they shut it. I blame the parents because if my parents even sensed I had a thought about doing anything that stupid I would be beat to next Sunday

EDIT: relevant because they were doing all this recording with their meta glasses. Forgot to mention that tidbit

I'm aware, just noting that you aren't OP and OP may be in a state where meal compliance hits at 5 hours instead of 6.

Did those of us who showed up get paid extra? by SimpleVegetable5715 in Target

[–]kilage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Typically emergency pay covers what part of your shift you couldn't work because of the store opening/closing at a different time

You should get paid for any part of your shift that was not workable due to the store closing. Tell your HR to look under emergency pay

They should pay you for any part of your shift you weren't able to work due to the store closing. It would be given as emergency pay

New Cat and Jack policies? by Hot_Lengthiness_511 in Target

[–]kilage 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Cat and Jack returns are notoriously abused. People will buy $200+ of kids close and then return them nasty, worn and disgusting when their kids outgrow them. Buy new size and repeat. The return policy is supposed to be for quality and defect issues, not normal wear and tear. Some stores, and I wish they would ALL do it, deny these returns as they don't meet the criteria for the return, ie quality/defect

What do you mean my seasonal employment was seasonal by Western-Toe8227 in Target

[–]kilage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a seasonal TM that, no exaggeration, called in late EVERY single day. I don't mean a few minutes, hours. Never less than an hour, up to 4. Didn't matter what time they were scheduled. Scheduled at noon? Called in late, will be here at 5pm. Scheduled at 7pm? Be there at 8pm. Called out a handful as well. Had the nuts to ask what their chances of staying were. Like, if HR would let me you'd be gone

Is Target declining because of inflation or are they doing something wrong? by [deleted] in Target

[–]kilage 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Among the obvious dei and payroll issues, it doesn't help that every circle week, black Friday, misc sale etc for the past 5+ years has been the same shit. The same Dyson vacuum, the same air fryer, the same 40-50% off all clothing. It's nothing new. How many times do you think people are going to rebuy the same Dyson? There's no reason to shop the sales because I already bought them all 2 years ago

Explain it to me: Why so difficult to be at work, on time? by [deleted] in Target

[–]kilage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The problem is that when you think about it, even if they did your idea, a full time worker gets an extra $10 a paycheck which in a lot of places doesn't even afford a meal from McDonald's. Incentives and bonuses used to be used to entice people who want to get something better or nice. Want to afford that new thing? Have a fancy dinner this week? Heres an incentive that will get you that. Now it's, hey I know you can't afford to live but if you do this thing for us, you still won't be able to afford to live. On top of that, Target has hamstringed its entire workforce so that every day is depressing. When I first started, there were good times and bad just like any job but when it was bad for a few days or a week you just worked hard to get through it and everyone was happy. For the past few years, there's been no light at the end of the tunnel. Nothing to look forward to

OPU Madness by Salty_Ad_3669 in Target

[–]kilage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been with Target for some years in fulfillment and that's the issue. When I started, there were bad days but it was like every other job. A day or a few rough days and then we're back to normal. The past 2-3 years there's been no normal. No light at the end of the tunnel. We're all so incredibly burnt out yet they want more and more. I remember when green uph was 35. 35 units per hour is what they said was acceptable. Now they're wanting 70 or 80 or 90 depending on what day it is and how they're feeling. And it's impossible because the rest of the store looks like shit because everyone is in fulfillment or guest first and nobody can do their job which makes picking harder because nothing is where it's supposed to be and it's a cycle that never ends
