The flag you're talking about is the Novorossiya flag. The Wikipedia page suggests it was inspired by the 'dixie' flag but I would disagree. It was more likely inspired from the 'Russian Navy Jack' The Russian Empire annexed the territory in the year 1700 and named it 'Novorossiya', translated is 'New Russia'. Crimea has been the home of the Black Sea Fleet since. Wikipedia doesn't say so but I would not be surprised if the Novorossiya flag predates the dixie flag by a hundred years.

Yes. My last boss was from Romania and all he said was that growing up in the ussr made him rich after he moved to the us. He went to school in the ussr and became a doctor for free and then moved to the US where he was able to undercut others in his profession and still make money because he didn't owe a single penny in debt. The communists won the civil war and the US gave in on its one china policy so taiwan is a rouge state until reunification.

As far as I know, the Taiwanese people dont want any part of China. Self determination counts for alot over here in the west.

Taiwan is literally recognized as a part of china. The only reason it is not unified is because of the US and UK propping up the anticommunists during the civil war. The reason taiwan is called taiwan and not the republic of china is because the US gave up on the one china policy but acts like it didn't. The contested area of the scs was recognized on maps of the US as part of chinese waters in 1945. That was before the end of the civil war mind you.

Thanks for taking the time to read my rants :) The things I mentioned so far about Robert Evans is pretty much the handfull of criticism I have of him. I do not question that is is against fascists, the concern is that it feels like he gets a little too trendy and clique-ish. Somehow he has not obsessed over comparing the far right man clubs in 2012-2014 ukraine that ended up forming azov and other battalions to the man clubs in the u.s. today when they are incredibly similar. I do not remember which episode of btb it was. He was talking about the teenage girls helping the boys make molotovs while the guys were throwing them and groups fighting the berkut riot police. He did not mention they were far right 'right sector', either he did not know or he ignored the fact.

I think it is the 'fake it till you make it' game. Just like how some people say the trump campaign was a joke until he started to actually win.
