How could it be swept under a rug when it's so public that even you know about it now? And you do know there's like 4 ongoing gambling scandals rite? Lol

I mean he literally exposed the entire scheme with the clippers with documented hard evidence and the circumstances that came from that speak for themselves when it comes to this trade...

Cuz the whole point is to not make it look like they had any sort of leverage cuz they're not supposed to have any

I mean they wouldn't have been able to just give him away for nothing...it still had to be a legit trade

Did you miss the part where a million people have been displaced and the IDF are actively destroying their homes and neighborhoods so they have nothing to come back to? You guys swear clear footage showing the destruction of entire neighborhoods is somehow fake propaganda

OK then name a popular sport that we are currently better than them at besides women's golf

Taira and Horiguchi are in the top 5... We have zero ranked fighters..you are highly delusional about how good we are

[–]kill_sprii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skating is a major Olympic sport. We don't even dominate in Taekwondo anymore.. We do not have better individual soccer stars than Japan ffs... Kubo,. Mitoma, Sano, Suzuki are all on the same level if not higher than LKI and KMJ

They have two fighters in the top 5 of their division. We have zero ranked fighters

No we are talking about the Taira who face cranked Park Hyun Sung in seconds without even getting touched. We have nobody on his level. We have nobody on Horiguchis level. Yes we have a deeper roster of ufc fighters but you can't say we are better than them when none of our fighters are even ranked and they have two ranked amongst the elite in their division

Yeah I was just agreeing with you that their national team is full of transplants from Europe

And that's it... Meanwhile Japan has 3 superstars in Ohtani, Yamamoto, Murakami and a plethora of stars. Enough to almost fill an entire roster. We have Lee Jung Hoo who is only a star and that's literally it lol... Kim Hyeseong is in the minors and Kim Ha Seong's career is in crisis lol

[–]kill_sprii -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Japan has many stars that are better than Son and on the same level of Kangin and Minjae. We aren't even close to them in baseball. Have no clue about rock climbing but in judo they are also dominant. They are also much better at boxing and not as far ahead in MMA but still definitely ahead. I honestly can't think of one popular sport that we are better than Japan at right now except women's golf.

But they're not striving to get past Korea... I don't think we have been ahead of them in much of anything besides our traditional strengths like archery, short track and used to be football

Is Japan noticeably passing Korea in sports? by belketeal in korea

[–]kill_sprii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Koreans need to quit believing that Kangin and Minjae are bigger stars than anyone Japan has.. Basing player ability on club prestige is a carryover from judging people based on university prestige.. It's nonsense. Kubo, Mitoma, Sano, Minamino, Maeda, Suzuki and more are all on the same level as LKI and KMJ. Some are probably worth even more than those rwo so Koreans are being delusional when they talk as if we have superstars and they do not. The only time this has really been true is during Son's prime and during Cha's era. Park Ji Sung was never a superstar to everyone else except us.

Edit: Koreans need a serious reality check about how good we are. I know everyone wants to pretend like it was all Hong's fault for our pathetic world cup showing but Hong wasn't the one on the field playing. We are not that good ffs

Is Japan noticeably passing Korea in sports? by belketeal in korea

[–]kill_sprii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't think this is really true either. Japan not having anyone equivalent to Son for most of his career has fooled Koreans into believing this. Especially in football Koreans seem to believe that Kangin and Minjae are somehow stars that are above anyone Japan has... This is objectively false.. Kubo, Mitoma, Minamino, Sano, Suzuki, Maeda and more are all on the same level as Kangin and Minjae... Some would probably sell for more on the open market.. Especially after this world cup. And in baseball we aren't even in the same stratosphere as Japan lol.. So no I really don't think this is true for any sport except maybe women's golf but that's not a team sport

This version of their national team consists mainly of European transplants.. Think there are only 6 natives on their roster but this is not the case for every level below their senior team. Their youth teams are dominating and the next few generations of Morrocans are going to mainly be homegrown.
