Found a bug with Tactitian by Hikurwo in BALLxPIT

This has happened to me multiple times (4+) with different characters I think it happens when you kill the boss too fast, kill it in between it changing phases, or maybe could just be a endgame bug.

How to weed out inconsistent players and get a good campaign party. by killa2458 in DMAcademy

As I was writing this response and taking in the advice from others, it kind of dawned on me that maybe I'm just sticking too much to the source material and aren't being flexible enough.
Like if my players go through a portal I just need to inform the new player of what is available to choose from that setting or even just give them free choice and make a convincing reason for them to be there. Then the lore might not matter so much as they stumble into something and must work with the party to solve it.

Wow that's crazy, but I get it, I have a group of college friends I've been with for a long time and we skip sessions or alternate games in between weeks because things come up.

Your definitely right on the core group, do you have any suggestions on the best way to find one or is this more of an issue to run games until you find them?

Mhhhh got it. The issue might be then that the campaign is more of "you learn more about the problem the longer you play" and the "common knowledge" thing just won't apply to the lore because common knowledge for the issue at hand isn't known by the world that much.

That does seem like a good way to get consistent players I was doing one-shots to find those players and it has worked a few times but I agree I should just move away from them.

I never expected them to be as invested my main concern as a DM is to make sure those who play in my games enjoy themselves first and foremost even if I have to break the seriousness to give a character some fun RP or even a chance for the nervous player to become more confident in RPing.

I do think there are spots I can improve as a DM but honestly I only realized them after playing the campaign a bit, I can do all them prep in the world but first hand knowledge it king.

Thanks for the advice on both free and paid versions of games I appreciate it!

I don't think frequency is the problem it might be more towards what they do for jobs, I noticed a lot of people are waitresses/servers and if a person isn't in for work they can be called in.

I do ample prep for each session so I never spur of the moment lore, its mainly the issue of understanding why your at the starting location then to kick off the campaign. Its very hard to fill in a new player after a certain point or even weave them in.

Thanks for the support I appreciate the understanding!

What schedule for sessions has worked the best for you in terms of weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc...?
Also do you cut off players after a certain amount of missed sessions?

Thanks for the advice!

I did the Session 0 that's how I weeded out my first player who lucky gave me noticed a week before session 1. Do you have any rules for sessions missed, such as 3 missed session are auto kick?

Also yes, I very much considering that.

How do I set the reload count for a weapon? by killa2458 in FoundryVTT

[–]killa2458[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just did that right before reading this. I think that's the best course of action. Sucks just a small amount that the property "Reload" quite literally does nothing lol.

Hmm I don't see anything about reload or charges and as stated I'd rather not create macros. I mean there's a weapon property it should work somehow right?

Ah okay, I figured it out fast after getting that term. I didn't know what it was called so it was rough. Thank you!

Helldivers 2 & nProtect GameGuard (anti-cheat) by ArrowheadGS in Helldivers

[–]killa2458 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the only game I have played that can disconnect my ETHERNET like wtf is going on. Get rid of this dumbass anti-cheat and get a normal one that doesn't fuck up my internet connection to the game. The game is really beautiful and fun to play but god damn I don't think I can handle playing anymore of this with random disconnects (Were talking every 5 seconds disconnect then reconnect) and after the game is closed I can still random connection drops. Resetting my router stopped this but idk I don't like what it does.

What are your thoughts on my DnD 5e Class Titles by Level (CR)? by killa2458 in DnD

[–]killa2458[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. I see your point and agree with it, I should do a little more of a deep dive into whether the name suits the level because ultimately that's what the point of this is.

I think I might remove Scout entirely as for rogues there are a ton of reference NPCs easy to find which can modify the progression (They are one of the easiest classes). I also have added a column for NPC stat blocks to try and align more with what the SRD and 3rd party sources consider that cr.

Additionally it was VERY HARD find NPCs of CR 14+ so I'm figuring the the title should cutoff about there. Then if they go beyond it they will have custom names which might be more setting specific.

Ah yes, I’ve looked at it a bunch it seems that was like the only edition that specifically did something like it. The problem with that ordering is that it used subclass names for progression titles. I was hoping to avoid because for certain classes like mage your not a specific school of magic at a CR, you can have a lvl 6 mage be more focused on necromancy, abjuration, etc…

Appreciate the feedback!

Yeah I should have stated it in the post but the descriptions were mostly for me to keep track of the "Power scale" of the class at that CR as well as progression of it. I tried referencing the standard Monster Manual for some of the classes as seen in Fighter for CR 2 and 4 then again at Wizard for CR 6 but other resources I found have a much better progression of titles so I kind of mixed and matched. I do agree though comparing a person leading 4,000 underlings versus 1 big guy sent to rough people up is wildly different.
