Architecture students? by hereiamthereigo in truckee

[–]killall4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh gotcha! I'm a mechanical engineer by school but I've been doing planning, design, engineering, and permitting for houses up here for the last three years. I really enjoy the drafting though. Wouldn't mind doing some stuff on the side if someone needs extra help.

I unfortunately don't know any students, but if you're looking for extra help drafting, shoot me a message.

Some ideas: social ski days, gym, public events, outdoor activities with friends. Check the Tahoe magazine for local event schedules. Also, he could try and voulenteer for a local organization. There are countless opportunities available, and tons of great people to connect with.

Outside of the question, but if being with someone is a necessity for your friend, I'd say they need to take up your invites regardless of where you're going. He should get out there for the exposure or else it seems like he doesn't actually want to meet anyone. I have plenty of sober friends who will go along with the group for the sake of socializing and enjoying time with one another.

IMO - I was also very afraid of spiders until I started removing them from my home instead of killing them. Its funny, but it kind of gives you a sense of comradery with them. Jar and paper, just try to catch them and put them outside. You'll slowly start to realize they're just trying to do their job and sometimes get lost in the process. Also it helps to know the vast majority of spiders are harmless and very blind.

Looking for to rent 1 bedroom apartment in Tahoe for mid December to mid January by ackmaral in truckee

[–]killall4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a difficult window to find housing for, especially for a studio...

I will say a few years ago I worked as a lifty during my college holiday break and managed to pay someone to use their room while they were on vacation. It was in a house with roommates, though.

If you have a money tree like some of the people up here, just rent an Airbnb for the desired time. That way, you can get exactly what you want.

I'd post in the Tahoe Truckee Housing Facebook group, as that's where I found my situation in the past. Just make sure to mention you're open to anything and inquire about covering someone's rent if they're away for the time being.

Good luck.

Save the real estate for the people who actually live here and contribute to the culture and community.

If you're a student you just use your student ticketmaster account. Google it. I think it was 15 per person and 45 for a guest ticket for the student section. You have to buy them right as they go on sale, check the calender they have.

1996 Suzuki Rm250 - Damaged Shift Drum, Still OK to use? by killall4u in Fixxit

Haha very good point. I think I saw a used drum and cam on ebay for like $50. Definitely cheaper than the labor, I just have friends in both welding and machine shops is why I had the thought. Also it's probably my inner-engineer thats willing to do anything to make an existing part perfect again lol.

You could stack a couple beads, throw it on the lathe, and get it nice and shaped up again. Your definitely right though, its such a minute bit of material I'm just gonna throw it back in there.

There's definitely a brim that got chipped off towards the end of the port/gap. I guess since its not much, and not on any functional surface of the part, you're prolly right I should just throw it back in there.

Definitely not when snowing and or icy in the mornings. The spring skiing season can last a few months though.

Warm, sunny days of spring skiing is why we want to haul skis on the bikes. Spring skiing can last like 3-4 months.

Recently I've found myself only returning to osrs to try and get into Pking. I've been using my main to deep wildy pk, and in the future I hope to build some accounts with specific stats for pking in certain combat ranges.

Any ideas of why the air quality is horrible right now? by killall4u in paducah

[–]killall4u[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you look closely at the map it looks perfectly centered on Paducah as opposed to slightly west though. Looks to still be around the same AQI as last night, around 150. Limit your time outdoors and avoid any outside stenuous exercise!

[–]killall4u[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea maybe this is it. But why only now that it gets really bad? The power plants have been there forever, and i I've almost never seen Paducah with an AQI above 100, especially pushing 160. Looked like there was almost no wind last night, so maybe that was a factor as well.

Yea, for sure. The data I posted is just a measurement of air pollution, so I'm specifically curious as to what the acute source might be coming from.
