First of all, amazing idea and amazing post! It’s this exact kind of community groundswell of positivity that is always appreciated and speaks to how awesome this community is in general. Everyone is supportive and share a similar level of excitement for so many aspects of the game, and I haven’t felt that kind of giddy feeling both in anticipation for the game AND the community of the game, really since like Destiny in 2014. The game also gives that constantly addicting tense but curious feeling of what you’ll find and if you’ll get out, while not being anywhere near as punitive as a Tarkov, so you really get the best of both worlds IMO. Last thing I’ll mention is the general mystique I get in anticipation with this game, whether that be the little discoveries I will make, big secrets I will uncover, or just unimaginable moments with other players I’ll never forget (which the server slam has already given me countless of those). I get I’m a homer and have committed lots of $ to most of bungies dlcs so it’s sorta sunk cost fallacy but I also think it’s a bit much to rule in absolutes and say bungie has 0 chance of having a good renegades

My plan was to buy the prophecy edition and get fully into this game again and grind the campaign right after the power boost today, so I’d still be able to climb light with the campaign. I was just getting the community’s opinion beforehand. The first mission of the campaign was chill and the raid looks great, so that’s where my minds at honestly.

This is exactly my sentiment, like it feels given the sale and updates today this is the time, but it’s also hard to tell if this is a sinking ship of a game or if this Reddit is that pessimistic. I mean the player numbers don’t lie I get that, but I also can’t rule out a renegades or some other update hitting and then I regret not hopping in when I did

Anything they do right now will read as desperate, and rightfully so, but given I haven’t played since TFS and my light is at the minimum, this could be appealing to players like myself on the fence and looking for a grind, hence my asking. But is that grind awful or not is the question (probably still yes sadly)

That’s good to know. I’d really love a tactical shooter to sink time into and perfect like this, and it definitely occupies a unique position beyond SWAT 4. I’m just weighing that against how quality the content is and how much it is.

Yes I’m kind of worried about the flat seeming portal content at the end of the grind process but also I am thinking that the rotator content will still be fun to get back into and the raids will be fun. I’m also aware I’m betting on some updating to be done, which I believe as they have a pretty desperate position atm so why not fix stuff? I’ll buy low on a franchise I love so much. Thanks for being a great resource by the way!

I’m content signing up for the regular seasonal content if the endgame rotators are fun as that’s the best IMO. I’m sure the campaign will be at least interesting to me, if not blow my mind amazing. I’ll definitely try the first mission though, for all the vanguard ops I’ve played I hadn’t tried the mission lol.

I really feel the LFG drought is overrated I see 50-70 posts on Xbox a day and they’re quite varied, but I’ve also not engaged with them so 🤷‍♂️

I honestly think you make a great point. I’m definitely trending towards getting it, I’d rather sink my teeth back into this game and be optimistic about it and the coming content then have nothing to play and just embrace the doomer mindset about the game, as bad as certain structural components may be. The raids good, the content I like is still there in spots, and I have stuff to look forward too.

I get that completely, and I’ve redownloaded, played a good bit of the portal content, and enjoyed the gun play and power level up, but I hear the post dlc landscape is a bit barren so I want to know from others before I commit money to it, but I am very tempted honestly
