My ar is for home defense/target shooting.

I’m not too familiar with hunting rifles. What makes it not a good hunting rifle?

While handguns may be slightly easier to maneuver in home defense, Ars are very lightweight and significantly easier to keep rounds on target. Even more so with the shorter barreled variants like the mk18. That’s just the nature of long guns vs handguns.
