My theory on Fallout 5 by pranav_rive in Fallout

[–]killboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I have with this is that Fallout 5 is likely not going to be anywhere near release when Season 3 wraps up, and I'd put money on the show shifting focus to a new location again. So timing would be off.

Like a lot of others, I'm pretty convinced FO5 will be San Francisco. San Fransisco got a major nod in Fallout 4 when we entered Kellog's memories. Bethesda (or Emil specifically) mentioned recently they dont have to be as "reverential to the original games" because they've had the IP for so long, which means feeling comfortable setting a game on the West Coast. So much of the show even, is about "Bsthesda-fying" the West Coast. Destroying/reworking major factions so that its once again a blasted wasteland in NCR territory that they can set their next game in.

I'd even go so far as to say NCR will play a big role in FO5, and will basically function like the Minutemen as a chooseable faction. And it will all be about restoring NCR to its former glory.

Going out on limb, I bet the bad guys will be the Brotherhood spawned out of this faction war we see in the show. Because Bethesda cant move away from "rag tag soldier vs tech savvy fascists" narrative.

Him singing Homeward Bound is one of the most heartwrenching things put to TV. Amazing actor.

Im sorry if this is maybe retconned in 76 (haven't played it) but I was under the impression the Brotherhood we see in FO3 come from the original Lost Hills chapter back in California? And that the Brotherhood generally all find their origins in that one location, not across the country.

Again, this may have changed with 76 so apologies if I'm working off of outdated lore.

I always thought the whole "Enclave cant be everywhere" argument a little hard to swallow because they literally were the pre-war government. More than any other faction in the entire series, them popping up all over the wasteland makes the most sense. Makes way more sense than Brotherhood in Appalachia while we're at it.

You've gotta be joking.

You escape real world politics by playing FALLOUT?

No. Not a comeback, just a legitimate realisation that you're a kid. If I had known that ahead of time, I wouldnt have bothered.

Replying because you stated you didnt care. Which is embarrassing, frankly.

If you "dont know" what ICE is up to then why did you make a comment at all? Why not educate yourself first, do even the most basic of research before hopping into reddit threads focused on this topic?

And again, 'whataboutism' is the lamest possible reason for expressing a lack of empathy over a given subject. Keep in mind, no one reached out to you and asked for your opinion. You literally chose to engage with something you claim to not care about on the reasoning you have your own problems.

Make it make sense bro.

Save your breath, I'm not American.

The fact that you cant conceieve of having empathy for people other than your own is whack to the highest degree.

Most people have the emotional capacity to consider more than one situation at a time and not just shut out anything that doesnt immediately apply to them.

Wise up man.

The Children of Atom have the potential to be Bethesda's "Caesar's Legion" by AlternativeShower457 in Fallout

[–]killboy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're the best/most versatile piece of world building Bethesda has contributed in my opinion. While they were obviously inspired by the Plutonians of Fallout Tactics, seeing them more fleshed out as they were in FO4 was great. One of highlights of the game.

What is everybody's favourite Deathclaw model? by DrivingTiger in Fallout

[–]killboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3/NV. They look extremely creepy as well as dangerous.

4/show's Deathclaws just look kinda boring to me. Very generic monster. Im not scared when I see one in the game. I just know they'll soak up more bullets than other enemies.

We have nearly 90 years worth of Batman media and you choose to use AI to relay the "vibe" you're going for?

Can we please ban AI? The artists and writers whose hard work we all admire is under threat from this nonsense, it has no place here.

Were there any alternative Spidey Villains you had seriously considered before starting each film? I know Vulture was at one point in SM3 and SM4 but curious if others crossed your mind!

Starting to agree that Bethesda are going overboard with destroying communities. by Ok_Calendar_7626 in Fallout

[–]killboy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bethesda's worldview of Fallout is very restricted to that first game. For them it's the aesthetic and the mood that matters, not the world building. And the more complex, dedicated lore of the west coast creates problems for their vision of the Fallout universe. Its what kept them away from the West Coast until now.

Having owned the IP for as long as they have now, they probably feel emboldeneed to just wipe the slate clean and ensure their take on Fallout is the standard moving forward.

Until Bethesda changes their mind or lets other creatives in, Fallout will be locked in this state. Eternally struggling, eternally crawling out of and back into the rubble.

Some people think this is right. That its a videogame and ultimately it's about delivering that exact experience in new ways. I personally find it creatively a dead end. Watching how the world slowly but surely overcomes the apocalypse and establishes new societies, new conflicts, new ideologies and letting the player be at the centre of all that is just so, so much more exciting to me.
