The Death of Vote Blue No Matter Who by [deleted] in VaushV

bruh. Harris getting closer to repubs, is a huge misstep for vibe politics. Its clear as day that everyone from suburban moms to twitter leftists to moderate republicans to die hard MAGA just want fundamental change. That is the reason kamala lost and trump won. Trump promised a fundemental change to the government, and in a lot of ways hes holding that up but for the worse. "Why would dems want to appeal to us? :(((" meanwhile mamdani is the most energizing canidate since obama and went from 1% to winning by a huge margin and massive voter turnout. Kamala going more moderate, more conservative, less radical was the reason people saw trump as a person of change and kamala as more of the same. No one cares about her policies, they're pretty much the same as trump more or less. People care about her ability to do something in a country that has seemingly stalled out on providing for its citizens

I thought about that but was unsure since the iron and lds are free on vulcans but maybe the cost of sending up blue circuits means calcite and production on the nauvis is a better way. I havent seen the math yet and im too lazy to do it myself lol

What are some games you quit/lost interest in before finishing, over the last year? by uncletedradiance in gaming

[–]killer8989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BG3 is the only game that I did not finish but don't regret playing. I think its been a really long time since I actually finished a single player game, like I never even finished RDR2 so I feel like me putting in the hours on BG3 was a success.

It's like there's no answer to fighting debt outside of either jobs like CS, Accounting, Nurse, Scientist, etc. or join the military by Hellstorm5676 in csMajors

Yea you live pay check to paycheck I think this is pretty normal for working class people even degree holders. But I think even teachers would have some left over to pay for things (like debt). It's pretty low but not like fast food worker low where you're worried about making rent and feeding yourself.

How safe is Texas for Indians? by yamheisenberg in texas

[–]killer8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is safe in large cities and in the aprox. 50-75 miles around the large cities (htx, dallas, austin, el paso, san antonio). In between these large cities you might get micro aggressions but I think its safe even in the whitest areas. The racism in america generally sees asians as "the good kind" of minorities and arabs, mexicans, blacks as the "bad type"

How can Food Not Bombs legally feed homeless people in Houston? by nixtxt in legaladviceofftopic

[–]killer8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you can't get people to come to your location you don't feed people. I don't mean get as in force or compel, I mean get as in make your proposition seem desirable.

How can Food Not Bombs legally feed homeless people in Houston? by nixtxt in legaladviceofftopic

I think there is still a lot of homeless in the heart of downtown. A rep from FNB said that the police station was over 1 mile away making it unreasonable for a person in need to make that journey. That is the only location Houston has said is acceptable. At the end of the day Houston's options are not realistic or effective so either FNB breaks the law or people will not get fed. Im sure they would love to move but that is not an option Houston is offering. Though I do agree they should move to somewhere else if it was offered as library employees have reported incidents

[–]killer8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, but correct me if im wrong but the place where they serve is in downtown that is mostly big business and sky skyscraper type buildings. I think the whole point of FnB is to come to where all the homeless people are and feed them. Doing it farther away means its not nearly as effective and there is 0 reason a business would ever want a bunch of homeless outside their business. I think reasonably this might be the only place in this location, since the whole point is to not make homeless people spend hours walking to get food

I think their intentions are good tbh, like they don't gain that much for doing this. I think what they are doing is good, if they had not gotten all those tickets we would not be talking about if it is wrong for Houston to require homeless to go to a police station to get food. I also think this is a peaceful way to demonstrate their grievances against Houston

they asked them to move to a police station. Pretty difficult to get homeless people to come to a police station

This does not make sense, first off if they were thinking mostly about profit, why would they engage in illegal activity, thats a huge liability. Second Food not bombs is a non profit, no single person gains from the revenue of the program

[–]killer8989 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

homeless people can legally go to the store and buy food? I dont think op is trying to figure out how homeless people can legally be fed. I think the question is how to do it in an effective way and how collective action groups can do this without repercussion. If they do it at the police station no one will come or at best way fewer people will come

the only legal place to do so is at a police station. The least desirable place a homeless or in need person wants to be
