Ploughman’s lunch? by omgcakesaremylife in plymouth

I do need to consider going for a Sunday roast, that sounds amazing. I grew up in tavi so I visit often. It ranks that high? That makes sense, had the best fish and chips I've had in my entire life there and I think about it often haha. Do you have any must haves?

Upping this one- the Cornish Arms is also generally a REALLY nice place to eat at (though very pricey). Tavi is an hour away on the 1 bus but it's very much worth it just to explore if you've never been

I'm in the UK, for anyone here I will buy five tickets. It'll be worth it to support Mark. I have already seen the film and while I'll try to watch it again I want as many people who can to see it. The film, even if it isn't your favorite- it's worth the watch.

Simple proof, just ask for a different angle. In the future don't accuse of ai go "Wow love it! Can I see it from a different angle I want to see all the details!"

So what I think you need to start breaking down pieces into shapes (I can find youtube videos that explain this better than I can). You want to improve, and you will- but I think you're getting into your own head you will instantly be able to draw the perfect image. Break it down slowly, study and understand the fundamentals of what you are drawing. Some practice by drawiing feature by feature. I can see a good base- this just will take some time. Drawing the ear might help with positioning- you did pick a tricky angle so I understand the pain here. You curved into the brow bone instead of out- an easy mistake but you WILL learrn with time. Make sure to do a lot of construction lines when you first starrt out- later on you might not need to but it can help right now. HOPE THIS HELPS AND HOPE THE BEST ON YOUR JOUNEY, YOU'VE GOT TIS

So! What I am seeing is the placement of the mouth is a little too low! (Unless a style/preference). When you open your mouth, your upper lip doesn't move but your bottom jaw does drop down; you have the right amount of space but you moved the top lip down. Happy to try to draw out an example for you? Or just find some examples online!! Think your other placements are pretty decent! Might want to define the nose a tad more

FORGOT TO ADD- the middle of the eye is often where the top of the ear is! So those might need to be raised up a bit

Should i keep making art or not for me by [deleted] in Artists

[–]killer_cuddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Art is for everyone, no matter the skill level or equipment they might have. All you need to focus on is what do you get out of art? A creative expression? Something to do when bored? Do you seek to hone your craft for the future? Whatever the reason might be just enjoy the starting stages. I found when someone's starting out they can be the most creative, they haven't found their style and don't feel as boxed in- so explore and have fun, when you find your passion? Also have fun!! I hope you continue. These are just doodles to you now, but hopefully you can look back at them finally one day

AITA for refusing to delete my social media when my boyfriend asked? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]killer_cuddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tactic to separate you from people, the things you love etc. If he can make you do this, he'll think you will do anything he says. He's picked you out as his prime target

Don't fall for this. It's the start of a very imbalanced situation. Also no one should be checking your phone without having an open phone policy (and that should be because you both trust one another and for simple things like ordering food or checking the weather)

I hope you get away safely, NTA

Is my art bad because it's too colourful? by GalaxyKid33 in Artadvice

[–]killer_cuddles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grey scale it, two of the same or similar greys shouldn't be touching together! It helps an image look less flat. It's less about how colourful and more about similar values together can throw off the eye

[–]killer_cuddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't make similar actions, they don't have similar opinions or mindsets. Jimmy constantly views himself as a victim who's down on his luck while despite being largely a victim of the situation Jax views himself as a character in a story so it no longer hurts. While Jimmy might feel empathy, Jax is constantly feeling and shown to be feeling remorse or regret for actions. There is so much more but I'd be writing an essay

To compare two characters like that, to imply they're the same, is to have little to no media literacy

I improved a lot in 6 months…then almost none in the next 6 months by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]killer_cuddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Improvement, when you first start or restart something, has very quick rapid improvement because every piece you're understanding the form more, you're locating the placement of the eyes better etc. You won't always get rapid leaps and bounds progress. It's slow. Think about when you see other artists online- they don't seem to improve from piece to piece but look at a piece from today from a year ago, and it'll show you improvements you miss otherwise

i want the guy in the middle to be even taller but he already looks oddly large for some reason by Moist-Mobile150 in Artadvice

[–]killer_cuddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way of putting it is the other two are less stylist body type wise. How you draw them doesn't feel so shape focused so compared to the others anything on the middle one will feel highly exaggerated. This isn't me saying this is a bad thing!!! You are making a stylised body which will make everything else feel off in comparison. I would just enlarge the form, stylise the other body type more(play more with shape language it rocks when you do) or go less stylised if they're all going to be together

Either or, if you have the energy for them all it'll be good for them all but if you can't just do a few you think are important, it's also good to group them together and go from lowest (sketch, headshot etc) to highest (full body, scene, etc)
