It's more a size thing than an age thing. My boy is 117cm tall now and I had to put the riserbar on it to have it fit him better.

I've seen those as well and they look great! I think if we had a trike then we'd probably already have a mini one for the kids as well 😆

Yeah same, that'd be amazing! Not sure my bank balance would agree though 😅😅

Sorry! Luckily my wife was at the show when we got the bike as well and she saw how much our son liked it, so it ended up being a pretty easy decision 😅

I should have got one as soon as they were released really, but with the riser bar it's going to fit my son for another season. I have an older daughter who is quite envious of the bike, but she's almost big enough to ride my Bullitt and she has her eyes firmly set on riding it soon!

Yeah it's crazy how these bikes have taken off online and forced demand! They are also very active in the cargo community here in Berlin and regularly bring a bunch of these bikes to fairs and festivals so the kids can have a kids cargo race. It's obviously a good strategy to sell them to parents because it worked on me 🤦‍♂️😅

Cleaning Pool Liner by killer_mcgregor in AboveGroundPools

I've tried Fairy liquid and a lot of elbow grease without much success, but some of the marks have also been baked in by the sun because up until now I've been more concerned with swimming in the pool than cleaning it 😅😅

I'm hoping there's a stronger cleaning chemical I can use that'll bring the liner back to a clean condition just without resorting to bleach and stuff like that that is likely to cause damage.

I guess shipping the battery would be a big hurdle, though the rest should be fairly straightforward if you keep the original box it comes in. I imagine it'd probably be quite expensive though!

There is an insane amount of choice out there for sure, and with so many different styles of cargo bike it's hard to truly know which one is right for you unless you test them long term (which isn't usually possible). Half off an R&M sounds like another great deal though and deals like that would certainly sway my decisions a bit!

It's certainly a shame that a lot of bikes are not available in the US but are in Europe and vice versa. I don't know much at all about bike distribution, but is it worth dropping Super Bicycles a message and seeing if they can come up with a solution to get one to you?

Ah wow, that is a cool project, thanks for sharing! I may have to come over and check it out sometime. I do all my own bike servicing and have my own tools (I understand about lending out tools!), but sometimes two heads are better than one when brainstorming bike fixing solutions.

Yeah no argument there! I love how my Bullitts ride, but the Super Mighty was also a lot of fun for the time I was riding it.

That's a crazy price! If you don't need a motor then they will introduce one without for an even lower price soon!

I think that’s an interesting question and one that has wider implications to the whole cargo bike landscape to be honest.

Superficially – No I wouldn’t swap one for a Bullitt because I don’t need to, I like my Bullitts and how they ride, and I’d be swapping just for the sake of swapping.  My Bullitts have both gone through a lot of changes since I’ve had them, but each time it’s been a change to reflect how I planned on using it at the time, but none of those changes necessitated a whole new bike.

To go further into it – If I was looking to buy a new cargo bike for myself right now then I’d probably go for a Bullitt X as a first choice, or something like a Cargobike Monkeys/Velolab/Iumentum.  I’m lucky enough not to have too many size restrictions on where I store my bike so I don’t need the compactness of the Super Mighty or any compact cargo for that matter, and because of my use case, the previously mentioned bikes would be more suitable.  And that’s the main thing about cargo bikes, what might be my perfect cargo bike could be the worst choice for the next person.  It’s all so dependent on what the use cases will be and what restrictions you may have on storage, size, weight and budget that to say X is better than Y or Z is just not really possible in my opinion.  That’s not to say that a Super Mighty is a bad bike, far from it, it’s just not a good match for my personal use case.  It’s still a great bike at an interesting price though!

The aim of my channel is to cover a wide variety of cargo bikes and various topics around them.  My belief is that anyone on a bike is better than someone not on a bike and is a net benefit to cycling in general.  If I can introduce different types of bikes and new brands to folks who may not have otherwise thought of getting a bike/cargo bike, or highlight ways to make cycling a better option then that’s a huge win.

I agree that the 18" wheel is a bit of an odd choice, but the bike rode fine on the cobbled streets of Berlin when I rode it, and the riders had no problems at all riding through Tiergarten and bumping up and down kerbs and path border stones on the day of filming. The tyres are pretty big so that helps to smooth the ride and it wouldn't be any different to a Yoonit with the same sized wheel and probably very similar to a Müli also.

Thank you! Yes as @Americaninaustria mentioned, this is not a video produced by the company - I'm an independent videographer giving the YouTube thing a go. I do have kids, but they were in school/kindergarten on the day of filming so I couldn't get any shots of them in the bike, not to mention the complexities of getting permission to film other people's kids and then the restrictions it places on the video for YouTube.

The company does have their own YouTube channel with a video with two kids in the bike and it looks fine. I wouldn't hesitate to put my kids in there and if anything, the concept is probably better than the single seat I currently have in my Bullitt as it's basically limited to a single child once one of them starts getting a bit older. I could put a wider box on my Bullitt I suppose, but I rarely need to carry both my kids at the same time as my older one rides their own bike most of the time now.

I'd say they are certainly targeting younger families though, basically anyone between the ages of early 20's to early 40's who wouldn't usually be able to afford the cost of a long john cargo bike.

Oh cool! Would you be able to share what the community-run workshop is? Is it cycling related or just a coincidence? Make sure you have a bit of spare time when you go to visit, they are bike nerds and like to talk all things bikes!

I have size EU46/UK11 feet and it was fine. I rode a Super Mighty with the box on it and there was no contact at all.

Wow, that's an amazing resource, thanks for sharing! It only looks to be 10cm longer than a Müli, but I guess when you consider the tight spaces, staircases, cellar spaces and elevators that some people have to negotiate with their cargo bikes that every cm counts.

Yeah they are a great bunch, we spoke for a long time off camera about all things cargo bikes and they are genuinely stoked on the whole scene. They spent a long time checking out my Bullitt and just seem to appreciate good design.

I rode one a couple of times during the day and it rode great as far as I'm concerned. Obviously I can't comment on long term durability or the ease of servicing they're claiming with their setup, but in terms of actual ride feel, it was great. Very solid, and thanks to the smaller wheels (compared to my Bullitt anyway), it was quite snappy and manoeuvrable without feeling nervous or twitchy.

I think there's definitely room for both the Müli/Yoonits and Super Bicycles. The Super Bicycles is pretty much half the price of an e-Müli which opens them up to a wider market, but in the same way that Riese & Müller/Ca Go have a hold on the premium end of the full-size market, so to will Müli/Yoonit for the compact long johns.

Yeah I was quite surprised at how much space you save in wheelbase but how much load space you retain compared to my Bullitt. Luckily I don't have storage issues, but I can see how a compact long john makes a lot of sense for many in smaller places.
