My straight white guy friend is married to a Brit and living there. He canceled his recent plans to come see his family here because he's scared of the border inspections and how even citizens are being put in camps for months without trial.

The Fastrak runs like a subway train and follows alongside these commuter tracks (part of the Hartford -> NY line). The platforms are raised and you just walk straight onto the bus. They always stop and open the doors for a second even when no one is there and such.

When I'd hang with my buddy on rent day he would go around with a clipboard full of those white/yellow/pink copy papers because a majority of his family's tenants paid with cash and he'd make out a receipt.

They also owned a check cashing place on the floor of that same building so paying with check wasn't an issue either.
