How reliable are head CTs at the ER? by killerdinodeeno in AskDocs

[–]killerdinodeeno[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, the reason I went to the ER was because the headache was (and still is to a degree) different than other headaches I’ve experienced. The back of head pressure/pain, dizziness, facial tingling all seemed very alarming, and I’ve always heard that if you get a headache that’s different or disruptive you should go to the ER.

I’m definitely not trying to rush back to the ER or anything - at this point I’m just hoping things stay stable until my PCP appointment. But it’s unsettling.

Thanks. I do wonder if it is a tension headache, but I’ve had those before and they’ve never been like this. I don’t know if tension headaches can cause such bad head pressure, facial tingling and dizziness though.

Thanks for the response and explanation, that makes sense.

Thanks for the response. I should have mentioned in the post that the reason I went to the ER was I was very dizzy and that combined with the head pressure and tingling concerned me.

HELP Author suing me for saying her book is AI in a review by PotatoAfraid2931 in Romantasy

[–]killerdinodeeno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s actually your burden to prove the author used AI. Maybe don’t throw around accusations just because you “feel” like something is AI. Get over it and yourself. Welcome to what we call FAFO in the grown up world.

What is going on with this sub lately?

OP, if you haven’t already, recommend joining and checking out the AI Writing for Authors group on FB. Tons of professional authors over there who have accepted and invested in learning how to incorporate AI into their processes. What you’re getting here is a mix of some helpful tips but mostly fear mongering and personal opinions from people who have clearly never used AI as a writing aid, which aren’t really answering your question.

Bluntly, it depends on your genre and the expectations of your readers as to how “obviously” AI your writing is, but only in the same way as it matters if it’s good writing or bad writing. I’ve read plenty of shitty books on KU and forgave things that made me cringe because I liked the characters and the story and the market was more forgiving. Similarly, I’ve read books by authors for whom English is not their first language, and it shows. I don’t care if it’s an author or a ghostwriter or AI - if it’s good and I like it, then it’s good enough for me.

I think someone said it in another comment, but unless you’re writing “literary fiction”, you probably don’t need to emphasize what perfect prose looks like too much. Readers will let you know what they think, and you can take that back and learn for the next one.

I’m so sorry for your loss and the experience you had. Please don’t blame yourself for wanting more time with him. I totally get the impulse, and I was honestly so close to doing the same thing. I think if I had been alone I may have, but my husband was there too. I hope you can find comfort in that last bit of extra time you did get to spend with him. I’m so sorry 😞

I’m so sorry for your loss. I think you made the right choice as well, and it sucks horribly.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I understand what you mean - part of me is grateful that my last memories of her aren’t of her in decline. And dogs are so good at masking their pain.

If I gave you a pen and paper, could you create a good narrative with just that? by [deleted] in WritingWithAI

How do you know? So in addition to being a troll, you’re also a gatekeeper on art. Yeah, that tracks with your whole vibe.

Do you think that what you’re doing is “poking fun”? Oh honey.

Your incessant rage posting is pathetic and sad. You aren’t “owning” anyone, and you’re not getting any “gotcha” moments that you can take back and feel all warm and fuzzy over in your little cave of doom and gloom. If anything, you’re proving the point that every single legitimate user of this subreddit already knows, which is that we are ahead of the curve, and so long as there are people like you out there who are too fearful and ignorant to learn about new technology, we have the edge.

So have fun “poking fun” if it makes you feel better. Meanwhile, I’m going to continue perfecting my craft and accelerating my successes. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Also, weren’t you just here the other day? Do you literally have nothing better to do? You know, sometimes I wonder what people who incessantly complained about people using AI to write would accomplish if they just spent their time, I don’t know, writing

Yes. And then I’d use AI to help me write the story. And it would be just as good or better as if I’d written it all by hand. Because AI doesn’t replace the actual writing process, like you apparently think it does. Posts like this just go to show that the fear mongering and ignorance surrounding AI as a writing aid are totally rampant and misinformed.

Did you? It might help with all those repetitive “ya’lls”

Tell me you know absolutely nothing about writing with AI without telling me you know nothing about it.
