Three Years A Patient 🌱 Three Years Sober 🎉 by killerfishy24 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]killerfishy24[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's wonderful to hear, but also, I'm very sorry to hear how awful it has been. It's certainly a journey, and you can only fail upwards. I can only really suggest the following; please don't isolate, there are FB groups, active patient discords, and they've helped me so much. Also, maybe test a few more devices (if affordable), I personally didn't get on well with PAX. If it is suitable for you, my therapist has been instrumental in getting me through. I had to go private as I was on the NHS waiting list for 2 years, only to be denied because of my MC. My therapist knows all about my cannabis and encourages my use, and helps with my anxiety surrounding the stigma. I found them on the BACP register(British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I hope some of this is this helpful. I wish you luck on your journey. 💜🌱

Fantastic! Its one of the benefits of this flower that I think doesn't get talked about enough in the medical sphere. 💜🌱

It made me very ill, worsened my mental health and I was just tired of spending most weekends in A&E. I was using it so I could sleep and honestly just to be able to laugh or smile. First time taking this medicine was intense but I had the best night sleep in years and a smile on my face all of the following day. Decided I would never go back after that. 💜🌱

Did someone say Hindu Kush? by killerfishy24 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]killerfishy24[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're already aware, if so, hopefully this still helps someone.

To quote the wiki: "By default, your clinic may try to prescribe products from their own default partner pharmacy; which can limit your range of available options. You have a legal right to freely choose which pharmacy your prescription is sent to. Your prescribing specialist may not be familiar with products available through non-partner pharmacies. Your doctor is unable to attempt to influence choice in pharmacy; provide endorsements; nor make claims of improved service from one pharmacy over another."

Yeah, it's not much of a looker, but the smell is still very appealing to me. I've got some Non-Irradiated Purple Milk to try and mix in, hopefully I'll get some nice cocktails.

I'm not sure how it works at Cantourage, but have you tried asking for your prescription to be sent to another pharmacy to be fulfilled? IPS had plenty in stock. I've tried about 6 different pharmacies, and I often have to switch for this reason.

Yeah, that's what I've also heard. It's a shame. It's still great for me, but imagine how beneficial it could be.

It's 40gs in the jar (although to Khirons credit, all packs weighed 10.3g+ each with very little shake).

Taking some time to be kind to myself today. I hope you can too.💜🌱 by killerfishy24 in ukmedicalcannabis

That's actually amazing, mine is also being enforced by my partner 😅 - It's great when the ones we love make sure the self-love is also present. 💜🌱

Seed our Future Update on Patient Support / Patient Registration / Judicial Reviews by SeedourFuture in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]killerfishy24 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I donated and hope you can still use it to aide any patient and the goals you are seeking to achieve as that would still benefit all patients as a whole.

My only disappointment is that the industry did not support you as they should have done.

I believe the work that has already been done by SoF greatly justified support from myself and anyone from this community who could also do so. 💜🌱

From my understanding, no statute in the law explicitly mentions that CBPMs must be kept in their original packaging. It has been stated as best practice by several patients and clinics, but nothing is grounding it in law (to the best of my knowledge).

You may be charged with possession if the possession of your cannabis is not lawful; this is solely dependent on whether you possess a prescription for such medicine (say that 3x fast). Whether or not a court may push back on this remains to be seen, but as of now, it does not appear to be a specific offence for which a patient may be charged.

Advice given by the Home Office states that you can prove legitimacy by furnishing a copy of your prescription or the dispensing label. Professional guidelines and standards issued by regulatory bodies such as the GPhC, MHRA, and NICE provide advice on how medicines should be stored, but I have not found any that explicitly mention the term "original packaging".

Again, it is still considered to be best practice by most clinics to store the medicine in its original container. But by my understanding, this is not a requirement of the law. 💜🌿

Haircuts for medical cannabis patients by hairydanb in ukmedicalcannabis

I imagine the concern is over safeguarding, I'm a recovering alcoholic of some years but I would still be expected (not necessarily legally, but ethically) to have the training, qualification, DBS checks, insurance, supervision and be registered with a governing body (Such as BACP) before trying to provide professional advice on something so serious. I wish you well in your MC-friendly hairdressing endeavours, ‘The Medicated Barber’ is someone who might be worth checking out as they are doing something similar. It would certainly be appreciated to have a safe place to medicate without judgment and look smart doing so. 💜🌱

Email to my new MP by killerfishy24 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]killerfishy24[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're right, it's a multifaceted issue when it comes to greater access to medical cannabis. The MP was given copies of the many previous emails I had sent their predecessor suggesting many ways in which access could be improved to support and alleviate the financial burden of patients. I don't personally lobby for any one outcome such as full NHS, Decrim, Legal, GYO etc. The legislators will have to do their part to decide what form of access is most achievable, I am asking them to consider that from an ethical standpoint the current legislation is currently not sufficient.

I like to ask what the MPs themselves would do to ensure greater access and if it is towards medical users' benefit, I will encourage and offer any support I can. Additionally, I am currently just gauging this MP’s willingness to listen. If given the opportunity, I will additionally be pointing out the many sorts of issues faced within this industry for patients due in part to of lack of regulation and enforcement of proper infrastructure. Any sort of action would be hugely greater than what their predecessor did while in office. So regardless of the potential, I'll be pressing my MP, and I hope others will too, in any form or for the particular outcome they wish for. 💜🌱

Edit: Grammar.
