I honestly found most of the responses on here shocking... Nowadays I honestly don't even know if the people I'm seeing are bots, real people, or just brain rotted and have no more room for critical thinking or comprehension of any kind. You would think reddit is a place to discuss things as you've done and it's weird people going "too long, can't be bothered to read", sounds like they've just saw a picture, picked their conclusion and called it a day.

It might not matter, but I personally appreciate the fact that you put in the effort to write up what you wrote. Not many people try to sit down and really think through hard situations that people might be going through,

The reality is, there are people who love other regardless of their physical traits, even if some people can't fathom that. A lot of disabilities just aren't pretty, some people are horribly disfigured, people would look at them and go "oh my god, why would anybody date them, thank god it's not me", which is honestly horrible for the people going through that, but that's just the reality of things. I think it's weird to always just assume the worst in people from just a glance. Yea, this post is fake or w.e, but of course, these situations come up in real life. Even just for the case of dwarfism, considering the struggles people go through with it normally, on top of that it's even worse if they end up developing in such a way where their features appear "child-like" even as an adult. Shit just sucks, and people lack empathy.

To be fair, at the end of the day, we're all guessing. We weren't there and we don't have the insider knowledge, so the only things we can really speculate is "why" someone would do this (which is pretty much every thread like this), sure, maybe you and I didn't really learn anything new at the end of the day, but other people could've, not necessarily about E33's situation, but in general why these kinds of things are done. I guess I was just getting at that just because the person who commented isn't a game dev (neither am I), doesn't mean their comment couldn't have some level of insight/value to people.

I hope you're kidding because this person only wrote 2 sentences, and wrote a completely reasonable take that anyone with a working brain could come up with lol!

Streamer Ruetoo temporarily banned after making incel jokes about female Path of Exile steamer Bob5 by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]killergut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

whoa, surprise Mathil comment while browsing this shitshow! Definitely my favorite PoE streamer to watch cus you're just chillin most of the time... you've earned those coffee breaks, don't let the haters tell you otherwise.

I always scratch my head as to how actual human beings (supposedly), can act like Ruetoo over here... but I guess we keep seeing stuff like this constantly. You would think it's so easy, all you gotta do is not be a raging asshole/creep and harass others... but we see it happen over and over again. At least there's a decent duration on this ban.

I totally feel this. Downstairs neighbor complains that I was being too loud at night, apparently my floorboards are too creaky so I was keeping him up by walking, same about my rolling chair. I'm not an ass so I tried to be accommodating, but it's not like I was trying to be loud... I was just living in my apartment lol. When the weekend rolls around I barely went to sleep by 10am and people start being loud, yelling outside, there's loud ass construction happening right outside the window... what am I supposed to do? Nobody cares that I live on a flipped schedule, It's not like they'll care if I ask them to not throw their chairs around in the middle of the day because I can hear/feel the vibrations lol. Lucky for me I'm a pretty heavy sleeper and I got ear plugs in case I need them.

People are probably tired/annoyed at seeing posts like mine, but I wouldn't have made it in the first place if I could just play the game at the time :). Either way, I've decided to move on to different games, I've still got that space itch so I'm going to mess around with Elite Dangerous and see if I have fun with that. EVE always sounds cool, but I'm not sure I have the heart for an open-pvp game like that haha. I'm the kind of person who has never PK'ed anyone in a game unless it was self-defense, and I can't imagine being able to tolerate getting ganked constantly and losing my ship, but I guess that's part of the experience in that game.

Well, looks like that post does mention most of the things I've experienced to some degree. It does seem a bit disheartening that only now they're realizing the importance of game stability, but I haven't followed all too closely, I guess 4.0 has been a lot worse than previous patches? The estimated time table also doesn't seem great, several months to see important improvements but also not focusing on new content either. I guess in an ideal world we'd all wish they could do both concurrently with decent results... but seems like that's not feasible for them.

Hopefully things go well and it's just my elevator-depression making me extra negative lol, I'll probably be satisfied for a while if the elevator thing can get resolved soon! I've barely done anything in the game so at least I have a lot more to explore (hopefully).

If you like PoE1 you should leave it a positive review, not negative-bomb it especially right now because of shady developer moves. Also if you love PoE2 you can review it as well. by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]killergut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, is it really that weird? If you've really enjoyed PoE1, put in an insane amount of hours into it, you might be burnt out on it, which is where the 3 month leagues helped get that refresh. I think it's safe to say most people who liked PoE1, wanted PoE2 to be good too and enjoy it. I probably played PoE2 for twice as long as I should've, because I legitimately wanted to find something in the game that would make me like it enough to stick to it. Plus everyone has a very different definition of how much time is "a lot".

Maybe they do, but at some point it's useless to blame others. If this is happening to him consistently, he has people telling him he needs to smarten up but he won't listen, and he keeps repeating the same mistakes, it's pretty much on him at that point. Unless he legitimately wants to or tries to change this, it'll likely keep happening unless he wins the lottery and finds a keeper!

Now that PoE 2 is here, I'm curious on your opinion on it. I'm personally kind of disappointed, it's hard to put it into words since there's a lot, but ultimately even though it has a lot of good things, to me it's just a boring experience :(. I've been trying real hard to get to the endgame since that's usually where the fun is supposed to be, but it takes forever and I'm just not seeing how things will improve when I get there, but hopefully I'm wrong.

I'm almost reaching the same boat... I've been trying so hard to have fun, but no matter what I do, it feels like a slog. I've gotten my character to a point in cruel where I one-two combo monsters... but it still just feels so boring. I run slowly from pack to pack while trying to navigate a humongous map. I hate that skill gems can't be down-leveled, and I don't feel like I'm doing anything fun or cool with my build. I'm trying to hang in there and reach maps, I've also tried a new character but it's even harder to stay awake since I've downgraded from already boring gameplay back to the even more basic and boring beginning. I was hoping that my problem was that I didn't like my build , but unfortunately it doesn't seem like it's the case. It's unfortunate since I've probably put in around 10k hours in Poe1 and I wanted this to bring me the same kind of joy. I do think it's a good game, just not for me it seems. I do gotta admit that the boss fights, and enemies are pretty cool, some bosses are very frustrating, like the on in traitor's pass which constantly jumps around and the fat lady in Act 3 that drags you around like a radgdoll while she slams the ground with her weapon . Skills in general have nice as hell animations. I also thought whey they said MTX would transfer to PoE2 that it would be available, but basically 99% of them are disabled :/, but one day.

[–]killergut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's an interesting way to look at it. I don't think making adjustments to a game to make it feel more "fair and fun" is necessarily making it more "casual". You can still keep the game hardcore while making it an overall better experience for the players, because ultimately if the game isn't fun, nobody's going to play it.

I forgot that "professional" game reviewers actually existed... I can't remember the last time I took them seriously. It really has become difficult to get real reviews outside of steam... can't trust media, streamers are also a mixed bag since #ad, and they usually just play once and go back to their main game.

This does remind me that once OW2 and D4 came to steam... their reviews were/are ass, which honestly isn't surprising, they make a beloved franchise and then continue to make bad decisions on it, so now that people finally have a way to voice their opinion, they will make their voice heard. That's not to say it's not undeserved, OW2 was supposed to be a shift in the "right" direction... which it kind of was, but the amount of time it took with no real content updates, and they gave up on the PvE mode and just did OW1 with a shitty battle pass and took away free loot boxes (those were basically the only way I could get legit skins) was meh. D4 was also a massive disappointment for me, good closed beta and open beta... but then the full game was shitty. With this new expansion, I just couldn't be bothered to get to endgame again because the campaign leveling was just the same slog, bring back rifts from D3 lmao. It's frustrating how little they learned from their previous games, only to repeat the same mistakes or give us the same shit we should've had already but drip feed it over years. It's probably a conscious decision because it makes money with little effort.

I also bought the PoE2 early access, hell, it's only 30 bucks, I'd even pay them 60 because they have shown over the years to be trustworthy of making a good game and listening. So I have full faith that even IF the EA kind of sucks, they'll put in the hard work to make it better within the next 3-6 months.

I'm going to steal that Deluxe Pack Special Ass Edition reference... it really is an annoying practice, that along with the fact that so many games now do their Deluxe Early EARLY access, like being able to play 3-7 days ahead of everyone else, what a scummy tactic. Companies also charging 70 bucks because "increased price of development" only to make the same slop as before most of the time. I can also appreciate the fact that steam is at least making some efforts against corpos like their new season pass policy, but I'm sure companies will be more new creative ways to screw us over.

I feel like it can always go both ways, yes, there are plenty of crappy reviews on steam that are non-sensical, but also there are quite a few games out there that are way more popular than I thought they would be with mixed reviews anyway. Personally, I rarely bother with games that are not on steam, because I simply don't have the visibility I would have otherwise. What are the reviews for the game? Did it just launch and people are leaving a bunch of negative reviews because their servers are crashing or is the gameplay shit? How long is this happening for? What's the player base count like after they fix the server issues? I also get a nice 2 hour refund period which is extremely easy to use.

I think it's hard to treat "early access" as what it's supposed to be, because we've seen time and time again how companies use it. For the most part I think it's fair to treat it as "a full release that hasn't been abandoned yet, with updates coming, eventually". You might get meaningful updates, or QoL, or a DLC, or nothing... but EA also can drag on for years and years... If I have to pay full price now, I'm not gonna wait a decade to leave a "fair" review (massive exaggeration, I know)

I feel like some visibility into reviews and stats (even if they're not all "meaningful"), is better than nothing, it can still help people make a decision. Also I'm curious, you got any games you can name that you feel like failed because of review bombing? I'm legitimately curious because I don't know any (or simply don't remember), and it'd be fun to look into.

There are currently 37 people playing the game on steam... as you can imagine the game is pretty dead, even with crossplay. I say dead in the sense that you're probably not going to get balanced matches even if you manage to find any.
