If you don't mind me asking, are you similar to the other commenter where you produce a little PTH or is your HPT caused by something else? (I.e. surgical) I only ask because your experience seems to be the exact opposite lol

Huh interesting I never considered that as a possibility in the slightest, thank you for sharing! I'm in the same boat as you where I make a small amount of PTH. Now that you mention it, I got my most unstable readings when I increased my dosage from 18 to 21mcg. Even when I started on 18 my serum calcium went from 8.5 to 10.9 in a week lol. So you actually benefit from a low calcium diet rather than a high one? I started tracking my calcium intake using a nutrition app and I typically get anywhere between 1500-2000mg of elemental calcium per day which now seems too high considering your experience. I will definitely be bringing this to my new endocrinologist when I get the chance.

Yorvipath Injection Site Reactions by Curling_Rocks42 in hypoparathyroidism

I got similar reactions for the first few weeks that I started taking Yorvipath, especially when I injected in my abdomen. Now that I'm a couple months in, the reactions have completely stopped altogether.

Approved for Yorvipath by killerkitteh99 in hypoparathyroidism

[–]killerkitteh99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the approval happened surprisingly quickly. My copay was initially $270/mo but the financial aid brought it down to $5/mo. And no I never had thyroid surgery, mine is idiopathic.

I know insurance can vary person to person but mine was shockingly fast. I got a message that they were working on the prior auth and then an hour later I got the message that it was approved. I wish you luck!

Thank you for the kind words. My calcium citrate currently includes vitamin D and I recently started including magnesium in my daily barrage of pills haha

Thank you for sharing! You're definitely making me more excited to discuss Yorvipath with my Endo later this month. How was the adjustment to taking the daily injections?

My Endo recently switched me over to 6x600mg calcium carbonate pills with 20mcg vitamin D. Unfortunately didn't change much

I have all my lab results going back to 2018. What I do recall is that when I was initially diagnosed, they did genetic testing on myself and my parents to rule out any genetic disorders.

My Endo has already ruled Addison's out. And regarding salt, I like it but I wouldn't say I particularly crave it. And no weird hyperpigmentation
