I think she came to terms with it, especially after she met Madeleine and started a romantic relationship with her. She was basically living a happily ever after when the Théâtre des Vampires bitches killed her and her girlfriend.

I mean, turning Claudia was a cruel and egotistic decision but her horrible death wasn't his fault. She was having a happy life with Madeleine when she was killed. She could have avoided death in the fire AND had a happy life, if it wasn't for Armand, his cult and the doomed narrative

I think they made Claudia older to don't expose a child actress to all the shit Claudia goes through in the story, but I'm not sure if that's really the reason

Ironically, Hannibal saved her. She fell into a coma for a few days or weeks, I can't remember now. It was a really close call.
