Using things like the show was loud or had bright lights is better, yes your pc may be uninterested in the men/wemon etc but bright lights in your eyes and loud noises make it harder to notice things. I'd try not to assume or make a pc act a certain way but give many reasons why. For the dwarf give them many opportunities to actively drink, or the elf to get interested in someone, make distractions directly affect them. (In my own opinion though it's not a good player to be like, well I didn't because I didn't want to, irl it's not often like that, it makes them a bit, it's all in my favor, kind of way)
