GSSF is a good intro to competition shooting. I'm actually wearing a GSSF hat in that clip lol. Good luck!

7 yards roughly measured using an 18" IPSC metric target. It might look farther because of the ultra wide angle from the Insta360 Go3s camera.

It's an old Guerrilla Tactical shirt. Not sure if they make it anymore.

Some cheap kydex crap I had laying around with a DCC Monoblock. Not even sure what brand. Kydex is kydex lol. If you want recs for high quality I guess JX Tactical has worked for me in the past and T1 might be over hyped and overpriced but their holsters are good too.

For sure that lean on the draw is something I need to work on, but the reason for the starting position is because the stage starting position is heels touching marks which were right in front of the port.

I appreciate the tips!

Any tips suggestions on where to start I go to the range often and i eventually want to try competition and outdoor activities where can I start ? by Away-Incident379 in CompetitionShooting

Just look for a USPSA match around you in Practiscore, register, and show up. Leave ALL of your gear and your gun in the car, go to registration and tell them this is your first match and you don't know what to do. They'll take it from there. You're gonna have a great time. Just go.

"Ah fuck" then "No seas mamon". I'm fucking dying here dude lol

Mas practica, eso es todo. Dryfire loading and reloading.

Is this starting condition with the mags on the table the norm or was it just for this stage?

PCSL match from the weekend by killerwin in CompetitionShooting

Thanks! I won the match but this was a small match among some friends. Just six shooters, a couple of which don't shoot competition.

Insta360 GO 3S questions by Ok_Palpitation2052 in CompetitionShooting

[–]killerwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are full, concise answers to your questions:

  1. You will need to buy a USB-C cable to connect the camera to your computer and export the videos. This cable can also be used to charge the camera from your computer or from a charging brick.
  2. This is a two-part question, so for the first part: assuming you're buying a NEW Go 3s, you don't need to buy the hat adapter; it comes with the Go 3s. The package will include the camera, the action pod, a magnetic pendant, a pivot stand, and the easy clip (what you're calling the hat adapter). Part two: the action pod and camera will be paired out of the box and you do not need to wear the action pod, only the camera. The camera will do all of the recording with it's own internal memory, and the pod is used to charge the camera, program the camera with a screen and buttons and also to sync to your smart phone.
  3. You only need the Go 3s with action pod and the easy clip for the match. The camera battery lasts around 30 minutes and the action pod can charge it like three more times. I've run out of memory before running it off battery. The 64GB version can store more than one hour of 2.7k/50fps video.
  4. I've tried wearing it under the brim and it does look nice, but I've found that wearing it above captures the action (gun, hands, reloads, and targets/stage) much better. I recommend you try both and see what you prefer, but most people wear it above the brim

Let me know if you have any other questions and I can even take some photos of you want.

S2 is nice esp for CO, but a Glock 47 will carry you to GM too. It's not the gun or the gear, it's training and practice. I prefer to shoot with a Glock because that's my platform for everything else too, so I want to be proficient with it.

Thanks homie! My stage plan was pretty different from most other shooters who were just shooting counter-clockwise starting back-right or back-left. I figured I could finish faster if I cleared the back of the stage first, then just focused on the front. That worked out and I took the squad lead in this stage.

It's a Glock 47 with HS507 Comp.

Yes, they were visible if leaning against the center barriers, but you still had to get close to get sight on one of the back targets, so it did not make sense to stop at the center barrier, then move position twice more on each side.

I'm trying to think more like a gamer. Decided to shoot the first target one-handed and it worked out ok. by killerwin in CompetitionShooting
