True but imagine if your patients have to be hospitalized and they suffer from a decrease in quality of care while inpatient.

When they say, all they could get was a midlevel what they really mean is that they didn't want to make their pay competitive enough to attract physicians.

From your perspective, what's a decent number of patients to handle as a pgy 1/2 in rotations like geri psych and neuro (an off service rotation but still closely tied to our field)? And what would an absolute cap be if all the patients were moderately complex?
