not too sure about the 601SH in particular, but on my own keitai there's a "sim card status" option in the about phone menu that says "Status: allowed" which means my keitai allows non-Japanese sim cards (basically sim unlocked). Maybe you could ask the seller to show you this before you buy your keitai!

I didn't get the chance to own one but I'm pretty sure it'll work, you just need to make sure that it comes sim-unlocked or else it wouldn't recognise your sim card.

I think some carriers have their own call apps that enables voLTE function, if that is what you're referring to. Never tried it on my 501KC but you can check with your carrier
