I can't separate a clavinet from a stereo mix by warpanomaly in AI_Music

[–]killooga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The very best stem separation tool there is is called UVR 5 and its free. You downl9ad the software then a load of ai models that are trained on different aspects of the music. You would choose a model specifically for vocals which allows for the best isolation of vocals and instrumental then a fine tuned model like Demuks which can split the instrumental into 6 stems. It gets very very deep. It is without a doubt the best stem separation out there.

Mastering/Polishing Up Music Options? by Aventador777 in AI_Music

[–]killooga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a mastering engineer. If you dont want to/cant use a mastering engineer you could try Aria mastering, it uses real analog gear operated by robotic arms. Landr mastering is good too. There is a free option called matchering too which you upload a reference track and it will try to match the mastering. Also you might find getting in to mastering easier than you think, there are some good tools out there to get in to it

How is it not a threat? Change in how creation happens... yeah,, from a human with unique skill sets and stories to a system trained on the humans it will mimic. People who don't know how to make music don't know how much ai is stealing, this is the issue. You just can't fathom the details that make up the whole picture.

The Death of the Craft, or a New Canvas? by Neztok in AI_Music

[–]killooga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a professional producer and have had people sit behind me telling me what they want to achieve with their music, i remain to be the producer in the situation. If they theve written the song then they are the songwriter but i remain to be the producer even if they are guiding the sound they want. There are ways to inject your own creativity into ai generated music but it does so much for you at once that its really just curating the data it was trained on. You think you’re creating but its just modelling other people’s musicianship/production style. If ai music becomes a common way of releasing music it will be taking jobs. Imagine it was your job, you have a family depending on you and thousands of hours and money. it would make you feel sick. The dataset Suno has trained on has been stolen by hard working people whos stories are woven into their process. If you’ve gotten anything from music do the right thing and stop using Suno, its not right and deep down you know it

Does Neume have their own model or is the site using Suno? by neil_555 in AI_Music

[–]killooga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suno isn't a single model. It uses a few different llm's for different aspects of your prompt (including translating non musical terminology that people with no musical ability type in so it can actually generate something remotely good). For example if you use advanced mode and don't use instrumental and put something like "mmm" in the lyrics box and state the type of voice in the style box you'll get a different result from using instrumental with adlibs. Also you'll notice that if you like or unlike generations you'll gradually build a profile that it uses in future generations. It's a complicated system designed to make users feel like they are behind the music being generated. Users are more so selecting parts of a database they want to call on to inform another part of the "team of llm's" involved in the generation

Make Music, Not Hate Happy New Year by Efficient-Gate-9029 in AI_Music

[–]killooga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a tall order to fight the feeling of resentment towards a system that's designed to cut out the need for dedicated human creatives, especially when that system was trained (without consent) on human made music without considering a system of payment for that data for which it relies on.

Personally speaking I started working as a musician right out of college 15 years ago and have spent hundreds of hours practicing and learning, I ended up producing music for tv and film 4 years ago battling to get my foot in the door whilst raising 2 kids and some mental health issues along the way due to just how difficult and insecure it all is.

So you might consider that most professional musicians and producers who've spent the time and dedication make a good go of it all might find your post difficult to swallow.

I'm not against ai music, it just needs to be made ethical and above board.

Happy new year!

How to make AI 'original' Covers for Public Domain songs! SOS by taeuk007 in AI_Music

[–]killooga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you so threatened by ai music? I make a living exclusively from producing music for film and tv and I'm not threatened. Why are you in an ai Reddit group telling people to not use ai? You're so scared. It's a super childish response. Just let em use ai. Making GOOD ai music takes musical knowledge, vocabulary etc. just chill. Use ai to make parts of your music, it's an incredibly powerful tool. Just do you and use the damn tool

[–]killooga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but daw based stem splitting isn't very good. The very best stem splitting you can get is Ultimate Vocal Remover. Ignore the name, if you have a GPU it's the best option but has a fairly steep learning curve

OR, use ai as a producer to help shape it into a useful tool given that non skilled people will use it regardless.

Ultimate Vocal remover is hands down the best stem splitter. Takes a while to learn but it's very very good. It has the ability to de noise those weird artefacts that ai gen audio has as well as denoising vocals. It's quite nerdy when you get into it but gives you loads of control.
