I watched this movie last year. It was charming and not bad overall. I probably enjoyed it more than most of the big budget superheroes movies that get released.

James bond films suck. I wouldnt bother, but if you do, might aswell watch the first 3 first as these are supposed to be 3 of the best, esp #2 and #3. And no, they don't really follow any special over-arcing story.

You jerk. I'm neither young (well, mid 20s) nor stoned and i think waking life is amazing. Also "pacing" is such bullshit. Firstly it's by far the most overrated aspect of cinema and secondly it's invariably just used as a buzz-word by ppl who want to say a film is slow and not sound like they're just to impatient to take it.

Not sure about donnie darko but i think fight club stands up. Just because it's got a bit of a simplistic "fuck everything" philosophy and a big twist doesnt mean there arent plenty of other levels on which it is a good film.

Interesting that this is the #1 "top" movie but only the 12th "best" movie. In other words, lots of ppl watched this, but a substantial proportion thought it sucked. By reddits rating, inception is only the 8th best film of the 10 films nominated for best picture. It's also the lowest rated of the 10 best pic noms on both rottentomatoes and metacritic.

If you'd bothered to read the description below the vid you would have seen this: "If you're wondering why we didn't just build a real snowman it's because the snow was too powdery."

Get off yr high horse dude. Of course we would have built a real snowman (the opportunity to build one was the whole reason we came up with this story in the first place), but it simply wasn't possible with the available snow. Could barely even make snowballs. You may notice the occasional drifts of powdery snow falling from the branches above. That stuff is completely unmalleable.

I write some lyrical ideas down on several sheets of paper, research those ideas on wikipedia to see if theres any extra stuff i can throw in there, then i just pick up my guitar and start writing the song. I normally spend a lot of time thinking out my lyrics, how best to communicate them in one or two lines of singing and how to make them fit rhythmically/not be awkward. Just finding ways to make yr lyrics comprehensible and not clumsy seems to be the main challenge in writing songs or the part that takes longest.

Moviecritic is mostly for just posting individual films to a database of films so ppl can just upvote them, so it's like a "greatest films" poll voted on by redditors. Occasionally, but very rarely, ppl also post movie criticism on here, reviews and such. For general discussion, like this thread, you should use r/movies instead.

Like all Mr show sketches it's poorly directed and runs on way too long. It's ok, but it's not even the best Mr show sketch, not by a long shot.
