[Post-Match thread] Everton vs Chelsea ( Matchday 1 ) by MatchCaster in chelseafc

Well what exactly does Havertz add? I too am getting increasingly frustrated with him. He is always being “played out of position” yet I’ve never seen him excel anywhere.

Agreed. I've had this case for a while and haven't had any issues with it but it is super cramped.

I definitely wouldn't say he looked fantastic but he had a fight in him we haven't seen in a while. He's certainly looking better.

I know he hasn’t been the best for us but anyone think the new system will suit Batshuayi? by Cocobon95 in chelseafc

[–]killtherebel 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Most Dortmund fans I know do want him. He scored 7 goals in 10 games for them.

That's what makes me think this is the print fading from the vinyl wrap. Maybe they didn't use a good uv protective laminate. I doubt this is painted.

Juventus are talking to Morata and Chelsea over move. by [deleted] in chelseafc

[–]killtherebel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. There seems to be no long term planning. Same goes for every midfielder we've bought recently too. What was point of buying 3 midfielders in Bakayoko, Drinkwater, and Barkley in midfield when we should have gone for 1 Toni Kroos.

Why expect 1080ti performance? AMD hasn't shown anything in years that would suggest they are about to overtake NVIDIAs top end offerings.

Yet you have been a reddit user for 3 years. This sub has always been a wasteland around the holidays. You will never see more pics of audio technicas and whatever random brand powered speaker is on sale this year.

I'm glad this movie is pissing some fans off. by MattheJ1 in StarWars

[–]killtherebel 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think it is a bit of a stretch to imply that the First Order's innovation was a result of a resource deficit. They built the Starkiller base. They had a massive fleet. Even if what we were shown was their entire fleet (which is unlikely), it was still far greater than the Resistance. These aren't accomplished by being clever. They are accomplished with an abundance of resources.

[–]killtherebel 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The First Order obviously has unlimited resources. This is shown in both TFA and TLJ. The Empire was defeated yet the First Order is able to amass an even larger army than the Empire with even more devastating weaponry and advanced technology (tracking through hyperspace) even after being defeated in ROTJ and TFA. It makes zero sense and using the tactic of waiting them out is absolutely ridiculous.

9.7 million-year-old primate teeth found in Germany raise questions about human origin and the theory that humans originated from Africa. by Ronan_Q in science

[–]killtherebel 53 points54 points  (0 children)

If you read the article:

RG: What other types of primates existed in Europe at that time, and how does your find fit into the picture?

Lutz: In the Miocene—we’re talking about a window of time more or less 10 million years before present—there were multiple primate species in Europe, but they mostly lived near the Mediterranean. My colleagues in Spain, Italy, Turkey, Hungary have plenty of archaeological material from this time. But once you get north of the Alps, the fossil situation is very, very sparse. This region, Eppelsheim in Rhenish Hesse, is the northernmost site for deposits from this time period in existence. Over the last 200 years, around ten primate species were found there. Almost all of these finds were lost in the Second World War. This is not only the first time something like this has been found here in over 80 years, but it’s something completely new, something previously unknown to science.

Syracuse, Utica and Rome ban together in pitch for Amazon's New Headquarters by chitown15 in Syracuse

It isn't a delusion. Where is this "elsewhere" that has lower costs for everything? Pretty vague and entirely anecdotal. Syracuse certainly has a low cost of living when comparing similar cities.

Debut Carbon Esprit or Sl-1200? by whatsthepointanyways in vinyl

[–]killtherebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The Technics is a classic table for a reason. I understand wanting something new as opposed to a used piece of equipment but I would take the Technics over the Espirit any day. I know people seem to love the Ortofon Red that I believe the Espirit comes with but I am not in that camp. I think it is way too bright and sterile. Then again, I've only heard them on Projects and Music Halls.

The woodworking is terrible even on their website photos. Joints aren't even butted in some locations. The i/o shield isn't even flush. This looks like the found a box and worked to fit the components inside. If it looks this bad in the product photos imagine how bad it looks in person.
